Well I suppose I should be ashamed of myself for not updating in forever. However, in my defense, I have been out of my mind busy. There is so much going on this year, and so much to prepare for. But I shall give an update on the horses:

Blaze: Blaze and I have been focusing on liberty/freestyle, Though I've been taking it easy since it has been 90s + degrees everyday. He's doing very well, he's very relaxed with his head down most of the time. I do have some newer videos, but I'll post them at the end!

Angel: Angel and I have been doing allot of riding, Her spins are getting faster and faster, and she'll now spin bridle-less. I've taught her to bow and kiss, she is very close to laying down. Also he bridle-less riding is spectacular.

Layla: Layla has surpassed all my expectations, Her liberty is L3 easy. She's come along way, here is our task list she can do so far: (all online and liberty.) 7 games, 7 games at liberty, stick to me Walk, trot, canter, Stand on pedestal, Jump barrels, Spanish walk, bow, side-pass to me, simple lead change, bare-back pad.
I'm very proud of her!

Caspian: Caspian has done so well, we have the canter online and under saddle on both leads (It was very difficult for him to canter on the left lead) Also his liberty has come along very nicely.

Joie: Joie's riding is coming along great! Though, I'm still building her muscle, so I'm taking it easy.

Amour: This silly girl is great! her bridle-less has come along nicely! and her liberty is better then ever!

Body awareness.

I've been noticing lately, when I walk up to one of my horses that are more Right Brain, I see their head turn away. I've always thought "Their just not in the mood to play." But is this always the case? Tonight I answered that question. I started walking up to Spirit, and stoped, and called his name. Spirit started leaving, I thought to myself "Why did he leave? and how can I get him to come back?"

I've noticed when around horses, I tend to have a "high" energy in my core- or a more "driving" type of energy, it's almost uncontrollable.. If you put an extroverted horse in a round pen with me, they get so playful and energetic. They sense my energy----Even tho lowering my energy is very difficult, I tried to lower my energy as much as I could.so as my energy lowered, Spirit turned around, and walked right up to me. Along with the rest of the herd.

So this leads to another thing:
Blaze, always has a high energy under saddle, I always thought it was my tack (Which certainly doesn't help)...But could the actual problem be my very high energy?...Indeed it could! I think next time I ride Blaze, I'm really going to focus on my energy being lower, and see how Blaze reacts to this.

Well this concludes my blog post, I admit I have been terrible keeping up with things lately. Hopefully I can keep everyone posted more often!

Update

Busy, busy me. I've clearly been lacking for the past few months. I apologize for being such a slacker. But I'm here with you for an update!

Layla has shown me just how talented she truly is. Everything I've been teaching her has been at liberty, I've found that teaching things at liberty maybe more difficult. But I've learned to respect the horse in a whole new level, to give them the choice of being with you is truly the best way.

Introducing Prince Caspian

Hi all!

I would like to introduce you to my mother's horse, Prince Caspian. He is a 7 year old Appy/saddle bred mixture. He is a innately RBI, but has learned LBI behavior. He is such a talented horse! he will hopefully in the future be a hunter jumper. I've watched him jump a 4 foot fence like it was 1 feet.

So far is is level 2/3ish. We've owned him for a month and I've just been meaning to write this blog and finally got around to it.

He is awesome at liberty, and online and is already jumping a little under saddle. Here are some pictures:

He is such a special horse to me. He is so much like Blaze.

What is a "Foundation?"

Since my previous post, I have gotten a few emails asking "What is a foundation to you?"

I feel a basic foundation is training in everything most horses need to know how to do: starting, stopping, turning, transitions, loading, clipping, washing, tying, side passing, standing for grooming, mounting and farrier work, and carrying people, packs, jackets, etc. I would say that these are things that if you sent your colt to a trainer, you should have at the end of 90-days.

A solid foundation would be a bit more, say through the colt's first year. Where you do all of that plus the basics of riding in a group, trail obstacles, shows, a few clinics. The horse is learning collection and to carry themselves with a rider comfortably in many environments.
Without a proper foundation, your horse won't progress to his true potential and be able to maintain performance-whether it's on the trail or in the arena.

Assumptions

This is a blog I have been meaning to write for a while now.

The quote:
"Don't make, or teach assumptions".
Is something that has been though my mind over and over again though out the years. Mainly because my horses "Assume" what I want all to often, Especially Blazey boy.

It's not really a big issue for me, I can handle it, but is it important for everyone to understand that Teaching assumptions can be dangerous.

Why does Blaze assume things? That's easy, trick training. Here is one of the main reasons I am writing this blog: I have questions though emails, messages, all the time with people who are basically beginners wanting to know how to teach a horse to lay down, rear, paw, Spanish walk, bow, etc. And their horses don't even have a solid foundation. (I was one of those who did not, an still don't, have a solid foundation.) It is very frustrating for me when you know how dangerous these tricks can be once they are taught. Truth is, once you teach one of these tricks, and give them a treat every time, you teach an assumption.

I see it all the time, when a horse does one of these tricks, people think "Aww they offered it!" and then they give them a treat, THAT is by far the worst thing possible, you're horse does not need to do any trick UNLESS you ask them.

Because I didn't follow my own advice, I have been in quite a few dangerous situations; Blaze rearing up almost striking me in the face,(wanted a treat.) horses pawing me in the back, legs, etc. Because they was assuming.
I would advise everyone to learn the basics, get more advanced. (if your Parelli, wait till you are at least Level 3 or 4 before attempting to teach any trick). Not only will you have a safer horse to teach, but your horse will be more physically, and mentally ready, and so will you.

So please, PLEASE, learn the basics before specialization. I can not tell you how many times I wish I would have taught the basics before trying to specialize things..

Thanks to my mentors, I'm really starting to see though the eyes of a teacher!

Developing a new mindset

One thing I have struggled with from the very beginning of my journey is developing a new mindset, or in other words, thinking like a horse during every moment of our play sessions. It is so easy to start thinking like a predator, or start getting ahead of your self, and you're horses abilities. I think it is really important to make sure you're doing things FOR the horse, not for your own personally wants, or to him.

What I just wrote is something I have struggled with myself big time. A few weeks ago, Mirka told me that Blaze shouldn't even be ridden right now, (because he has no back muscle). This was a true test whether I was doing things FOR him, or doing things because I WANTED too. Because I love to ride, and I found myself struggling because I wanted to improve things under saddl such as trot, canter, lead changes). Isn't it amazing how selfish we become when it comes to our wants? And our horses needs? Usually we put our wants before our horses needs, and I've done that allot. And it has really jeopardized my relationship with some of my horses, (in the past.)

So, how do we change this? By developing a new mindset!! Having someone be straight up with you, learning how IMPORTANT the horses needs are before your wants. Learning to TRULY care about how your horse feels about you.

Why is this so difficult?
Because we usually look at horses as some sort of entertainment, a hobby, something fun for us. How many people truly look at a horse as you would a friend? you wouldn't ask you're friend to do something for you if they were sick, or in pain right?
I think the secret is learning how to treat your horse like you would your best friend. And of course, no friendship is perfect, friends fight and have misunderstandings. Just like you will with your horse, but you will learn to work together.

This is something that Mirka has really helped me change about myself, and I'm still working on it. Never ending self improvment right?

Hey guys, I know it has been aproximaily FOREVER since I have wrote an update.

Well I'm finally back from FL and I must say that I learned more then I ever have in my life, Blaze has totally changed. And I came back with a new FILLY!

Her name is Layla, she is a perlino mare. 7 months old.

Her Reg name will probably be R 'n'R's Smokin Layla.
Her Dad is Alabama Rock n' roll. And her Mom is PR smokin Kitty. Layla has 2 BEAUTIFUL blue eyes. And a star, and a hild stocking. She knows almost all the games, trailer loads herself, will go over poles, tarps, get on pedestals, etc. She's only known natural horsemanship.

Very humbling

I've been enjoying doing Carolyn Resnick's water hole rituals with all of my horses.

I'm really seeing a huge difference in each of my horses attitude toward me, I feel like I am truly being "accepted" into the heard, instead of the human who just comes to visit.

For over a week I did the first water hole ritual. The first day, nobody would visit me, It was rather sad but true moment, to know they choose the grass over you. But I thought hard about it, and came to the realization that usually the only reason I visit them is to "Ask" something of them. Stepping into their bubble without permission, haltering with no permission, saddling with no permission, riding with no permission. No wonder nobody wanted to come see me. All always wanted something out of them. Sure I would sometimes hang out with them, but not nearly enough.

The second day I waited 30 minutes, just reading a book. And next thing I know everyone comes to visit me, Except for the ones who were not allowed near the dominant horses-Aka Blaze and Fire. But everyone was kinda RB about me sitting their, since I usually don't come up their to hang out. But everyone started nibbling on me and then they started crowding me so I moved about 20 feet away and Blaze came to visit. It was so sweet that he fell asleep next to me, then got a rude awakening by some rude dominant horses. He got ran off and Spirit, Angel, Joie, and Amour came to me wanting some petting. After about 15 minutes everyone went to sleep: Spirit rested his head on my shoulder, Angel rested her head on my lap, Joie rested her head on top of Angel's head, and Amour rested her head on my arm. I felt a huge break though that day.

The next day everyone visited me even quicker, and so on and so forth.

The last day before I moved onto the second ritual I couldn't believe it-- Blaze was the first one to visit me, he was in a rush to get to me. He came to me and allowed me to pet him and then he went behind me and put his face right up against mine, This is very unusual for Blaze, he does not like his face being touched much. then went to sleep. Fire came up to me and kinda stood in front of me and just wanted some petting, and Amour attempted to visit me but fire did something very strange, he started doing this little nicker at her, I still don't know what he was doing but it was almost like he was saying "Get back!!" and she came closer and Fire chased her away and came back. Then before I knew it Fire tried to bite me, and Blaze got very mad and chased Fire away. then came back behind me and rested his face against mine....It actually made me tear up cause Blaze is not that kinda horse, he gets jealous, but he never tries to protect me. And he does not care to stay near me for long..He stayed their an hour, then I had to leave and he followed me.

By the time I moved onto the next water hole ritual all the horses said "hello" to me first, so I was like well...I guess I can move onto the next one. But the only one who needed to next one was Joie, because she'll run you over for food.

But anyways I'll get to the main point.

The other day I decided to play with Blaze online and liberty, (It has been awhile since I have done either). And Blaze was very responsive, I think we kinda lost our 4 canter circles online but honestly I don't care for him to have to do a million circles. If he doesn't like it why do it? he doesn't find no point in it, and neither do I. So we worked on some jumping, and usually Blaze will hit his hoofs up against the barrels a bit and be very lazy and "Blah" about it. This time he jumped almost 2 feet over the barrels with ears up and very enthusiastic about it.

I also played at liberty and he was AMAZING.

The next day I wanted to try to do a cross country course bridle less, and bareback. But I wanted to gradually increase the amount of jumps. So that day I only put 2 jumps, about 60 feet apart. When I first started, Blaze dodged the jumps, so I slowed it down and showed him what I wanted him to do., and then asked again and he galloped to the jump and flew over it and I was going to ask him to stop but he ran right to the other one and jumped it perfectly, he did not touch neither jump. It was incredible

I really think Blaze is starting to jump higher and more enthusiastically though heart and the desire to please me. It is a really incredible feeling when he wants to clear every jump, with ears forward, with so much impulsion. You can just feel the power as he jumps. Very humbling.

He wants me to be his partner--Friend. 50/50 partnership.

before I truly believe that the only reason we could do great liberty etc, is because he felt like he had to be....Not anymore!

And Blaze is not the only one who is making more progress, All of my horses are. And this is all because 1 water hole ritual...Can you imagine what will happen when I do them all? I can't wait.

Mirka Pitts

What I love most about Mirta Pitts:

she always shares her knowledge, She's not like many people whom I've met that want to keep most info to their selves because their afraid that people will get "better then them." Instead Mirka loves sharing, she is a sharaholic! she does whatsoever in her power to get you to where you need to be. She helps you be the best you can be regardless of you're learning abilities.

She's very friendly, but she is firm when she needs to be. Her timing is spectacular. She turned me into a Lazy, freestyle western rider, into a dressage rider! (Well I'm getting their, I still have some work to do).

I have found myself making more progress then ever since I've interned for her. In fact, I am going back to her ranch soon to intern with one of my friends. I am looking forward to it!

I consider Mirka one of the best horsewoman in the world. I know I've mentioned Mirka allot, But I will never be able to show exactly how grateful I am for all she has taught me, and for allowing me to come to her place. I don't even think she knows how grateful I am, I only hope to one day repay her.

And I've said it thousands of times before and I could say it again!

Water hole rituals

I've been extremely interested in Carolyn Resnick's method. She is brilliant! also she explains thing so clearly, and truly is the best method I've found so far.

Today I did the first water hole ritual: took me a book, and a chair and sat in the pasture. All of the horses ignored me for about 20 minutes, or so. and then they came to me. Except for Blaze because he was not allowed near the dominant horses. I then moved my chair from the herd, and Blaze came to me and fell asleep next to me, Then the others came: Spirit sat his chin on my shoulder, Angel sat her head on my lap, Joie sat her head on top of Angel's head, And Amour sat her head on my arm. everyone almost fell asleep. It was really sweet!
The herd is getting better! everyone loves coming up to me and being played with, I cannot wait to move onto the next watering hole rituals

Learning

Hello everyone, sorry it has been so long since I have wrote! I've been extremely busy lately.

I've been having a wonderful time with my Equine partners, we're both learning so much, and both are very happy. Blaze is doing very well! we've been doing allot of freestyle work, and allot of finesse work. It's been going very well! Blaze is cantering happily without speeding up, which is wonderful, that was something we struggled with for quite some time.

Angel is really coming along, Her reining spins are fantastic! she's really starting to look like a real reining horse. I do have a video of her spinning, on face book.

I'm also getting ready to possibly go visit Mirka for another month, or so. With my friend Emily, if everything works out of course.

After that I am probably going to be traveling around with my friend Amber, She has somethings she's been doing in AL but she lives in TN so she might be bringing her horses back and forth and I get to bring Blaze. And also be teaching her etc.

Anyways just a quick little update! I'll try to keep everyone updated more often.

LOVE:

Understand the individual horse’s needs. Some horses are extroverts, others introverts. Some are right brain (unconfident/fearful) others are left brain (confident/dominant). Each needs a different approach or difficulties ensue.

Put the relationship and the horse’s needs first-his need for safety, comfort, food play; for bonding, for communication and interaction.

Learn to flex your behavioral style to gain rapport and respect from the horse.

LANGUAGE:
Use equine psychology and an understanding of heard dynamics in terms of bonding and hierarchy.
Learn the language and way of horses, which is primarily body language and playful interaction.
Start on the ground, it is better for horses and for humans. This is the best place to form a relationship, read the horse, communicate and gain understanding.

LEADERSHIP
Become a good leader for your horse, override predatory tendencies (impatience, direct-line thinking, autocracy, tendency to micromanage) understand the horse’s perspective, put principles before goals.
Train your horse without punishment.
Analyze your horse and determine his or her individual Horsenality. This ensures horses are treated according to their needs for calmness trust and motivation rather than all horses being treated the same. You’ll learn when to speed up or slow down, to ask more or ask less, when to focus on confidence and trust, and when to focus on advancement.

Put the relationship first. When a horse truly trusts you, there is no down time. Even after long breaks horses remember everything. It’s like picking up a relationship and conversation between best friends.

Practice

When I was a kid I took piano lessons. Even though my piano lessons were just once a week, my piano teacher gave me the assignment of practicing every day. That way when she came back a week later I could show some improvement from the week before.

Think about how you approach delivering a presentation. Do you think about it as a one time event, or as an opportunity to practice your preparation and delivery skills?

I think one of the most important principles of success is the concept of PRACTICE.

I think most people, myself included, lose value in the simple fundamentals of the game, such as “going out to practice.”

There is no limit to growth. There is no level where you’re “too good to practice.” There’s always another level.

For those that view going out and improving yourself to be “work” or a “chore”, then this might upset you. You will never reach a point where you’re “complete.” This is something you must accept.

Might as well learn to ENJOY the process. ;)

The best in the world continue to PRACTICE .

“Practice as if you are the worst, perform as if you are the best.” To this day, I continue to go out and “practice” and look for ways to become more excellent with my horsemanship skills. As should you.

Consistency

Consistency and persistence can work wonders in your progress with your horse. Everyday playing can make a huge differnce in your relationship, progress, and everything in between. A few days ago I had a major hassle with Angel, she was literally throwing a hissy fit for no apperent reason. All I was asking her to do is move her FQs over, and I was very gentle about it because she is very sensitive (RBI). anywho I was quite discouraged after that, our session ended well but I just felt like we were never going to make progress if she kept getting fustraded with anything new I was asking of her.

I then remembered what Mirka said to me when I was an intern for her: "Consistancy is one of the keys to my progress, riding your horse 1, 2, 3 times a week just isn't going to cut it. It has to be everyday." I then decided if I truly want angel to be as good as her 3 year olds in 1 year then I am going to have to ride her everyday and even I don't have time to play with her everyday atleast take the time to do some mosey!

Another thing I learned is don't stop doing some thing just because it is hard. All to often I used to say "oh riding is to hard so I'll just play on the ground." this is also the reason why me and blaze's online and liberty are much more advanced then our freestyle and finesse. So now I have made myself do things that are hard and I have learned so much since then.

So I want to encourage each and everyone of you to do the hard things. Don't stop doing something just because it's hard, now I know you don't do this is all situations because you want to make sure that your horse knows what your asking.

Conditioning

Lately my patience has been my best friend. I've been taking my time to watch our herd, and researching on horse physiology.

I have learned that Whether your horse is competing at high levels or just being used for the occasional trail ride, it must have a certain level of fitness to perform well and endure the activity without injury. Asking the horse to do too much, too soon, can spell trouble. This is especially true for those pasture potatoes that have had little in the way of regular exercise, and are then suddenly expected to carry their owner on a two-hour trail ride. Regardless of the discipline the horse is used for, they should be gradually adapted to greater workloads over time.

I guess in other words my horses are about to go though boot camp. Tho they get played with they are still not in shape, Blaze is in pretty good shape but the others not so much.

My training involves a combination of physical conditioning and task-specific schooling (i.e., schooling in the various tasks required of a specific event or competition).

Since I play on competing in the future I am starting them on a fitness program.

success of a conditioning program relies on the body's adaptive response to the stress of exercise. If the horse performs the same amount of exercise every day, a certain level of fitness is attained as the horse adapts to the workload. However, without a further increase in training load (an increase in training duration, intensity, or both), there will be no further increase in fitness. To achieve a conditioning or training effect, the horse must be subjected to gradual increases in workload. Each new level of training is maintained until the body has adapted to the added stress, after which a further increase in training load can be applied. Alternating periods of increasing workload with a period of adaptation is known as progressive loading.

one great exercise is working the horse over hilly terrain, it has the advantage of increasing the heart rate (workload) without increasing speed, thereby sparing the bones, tendons and ligaments from excessive stress. One of the most important principles of conditioning is that of individual differences. Horses vary in their individual response to conditioning. Therefor all of my horses will have a different fitness program.

An adequate level of fitness is necessary for horses to perform to their potential. Proper conditioning also helps prevent injuries that may arise when an unfit horse is pushed beyond its physical capacity.

Working on things

Well as usual I've been over and beyond busy, that seems to be the routine lately. Also the internet has been out.
But anyways

I actually haven't had a whole lot of time to play lately. But I finally found time today and rode Blaze and Angel.

After having a fabulous ride on Mr. Blaze I rode Angel and she was wonderful! I have decided to show her in reining when she has had more training. which her training starts tomorrow, she should be ready to show in a year, or so. I'm considering showing Blaze, and Amour in dressage, Blaze is ready to show, but Amour isn't. I need to buy the suit to be able to show and everything for Blaze of course. I think that Joie would be better in cutting, just needs to be trained. I'm hoping to begin showing when we move to Tennessee, and maybe show a little while we're still her is Georgia.

Back from florida

Well I went home early from florida because of course I couldn't miss fathers day! I was there for 3 weeks interning for Mirka Pitts. I have learned more then I ever thought I would, Mirka is one of the best teachers! it's like I got a private lesson from her everyday.

Everyday I rode 8 horses, and depending on wether or not Mirka's husband wanted me to ride an extra one, so sometimes I rode 9 horses a day. I started 3 horses while I was down there and it was pretty incredible, I started tobasco, a 5 year old paint gelding. Reba I 2 year old bay QH mare. And Decon a 2 year old buckskin stallion, I still can't believe I started a stallion! Mirka really helped me out with each one because she would come and watch and if she saw that I was doing something wrong she could quickly correct me.

The first weekend I was there I got to show at my first horse show ever, I showed Blaze in 6 classes and he did very well! in 2 clases 3rd place and it 1 class 2nd place and in another one 4th place. And in a couple we didn't place. I also got to show in a reining Class with a beautiful paint gelding named slidder. We didn't win but it was so much fun to be able to show and very tiring.

We also went on 2 trail rides and we were at some of the most beautiul places that I have ever seen and we went to a cross country course and jumped allot. and best part saterday I got to ride at the bay bridle less and bareback, NEVER got to do that before and it was truly one of my dreams!

all together I think Mirka is incredible! she helped me get Blaze balanced and helped me get Amour balanced and now they both with trot with their head to the ground and getting there at the canter. She has inspired me so much and has shared so much knowledge with me. I cannot wait to go back! Mirka made a few videos so here they are.

Almost time

Tomorrow I am leaving for Florida to go down to my friends house for a month, with Blaze, and Amour!.... this is going to be so much fun. I am sure I will learn allot and get plenty of videos, and pictures.

Blaze and Amour are all ready to go, we're getting our trailer back today from Trailer for less (the trailer had a break problem.) then I can pack up my Ropes, halters, saddles, pads. etc. and of course today packing cloths. I'm getting real excited because this Woman is AMAZING!! she can take any horse and have them amazing really fast and I am looking forward to see her at work!

After I get back from Mirka's I a going to TN to train some Horses (I get to bring Blaze with me!)..It's actually kinda weird that I am now traveling around some helping people with their horses, but really exciting to, cause I am expanding my teaching ability's!

I am not sure if I will be able to access a computer while I am down there so if not I will tell everyone all about it when I get back.

Bridle less Dressage etc.

Blaze has been learning Natural Dressage with no bridle, or halter, he is doing exceedingly well. He is now starting to collect at the trot and walk and being able to hold it longer, and longer. Also he will back up and be able to collect, it is really neat stuff. I've started on the ground with him and have built it to under saddle. He's getting really close to being able to assess level 4 finesse, I want everything to look like a dance and truly be able to do every task before I even think about sending my Level 4 finesse in. I've seen allot of people sending their auditions in and not being able to do truly every task, or their horse will "some times" do the task but the rules truly state for L3/4 that the horse must be ale to do it every time, and it's kinda like cheating otherwise. And I don't want to be one of them. anyways Amours liberty is getting closer to L5, on some games, she is extremely start and I've taught her to pick up my carrot stick, and my next goal is to teach her to paint. Her Spanish walk is perfect and she is starting to be able to do it under saddle.

My next goal is to teach her lead changes, she hasn't ever been asked to canter for more then a few seconds so I'm playing with asking her to canter longer, and longer, and once she has that I will be able to teach her simple lead changes, then one day flying lead changes.

Angel's zone 5 driving is coming along great! her liberty is really good to, she is just about ready to self assess level 3 all the way though, except for freestyle we still have some task to learn there. But in no rush! relationship first.

I am really starting to be my horses "Mother" rather the leader, and every single one of my horses are meeting me at the gate everyday and nicker at me and love to follow me around which is extremely awesome and has always been one of my goals! neat stuff.

Besides that I'm just preparing for Florida, and getting really excited about this trip, and I will be sure to take pictures and videos if I have time of course!

Lately I've been busy. I am actually starting my own natural Horsemanship training using the prinipals over Parelli natural horsemanship. My horsemanship program is called "HFH-Heart Felt Horsemanship." I will do things a little different from Parelli, using some of Honza Blaha's teachings.

few nights ago I totally took being natural to the extreme since last night I was talking to my friend on the phone "Fran" and she said said you want the relaionship with your horse to be like a mother and foal, so I said No carrot stick! I will not ask this horse to be with me, either he wants to or he doesn't! and he walked with me and I trotted off and Blaze kept walking...so I walked again and trotted off again no clucking or anything and he still didn't come about the 6th time he trotted with me and I stoped and rewarded him, and I did this for a while and he started getting playful, and I just took off and Blaze didn't follow then out of no where I stop and turn around and Blaze comes cantering to me tossing his head an being playful (bare in mind Blaze has NEVER done that ever! not even with the other horses) and I rewarded him and I ran and this time is when he ran to me with his ears up I about startd crying!

Blaze has made so much progress here lately and so have the others! Amour liberty is almost L4! she has the most amazing draw in a huge pasture and she loves to play the cutting game now, her spanish walk is awesome and now we are developng it under saddle. Her jumping is comming along really nicely too.

Going to Mirka's house is a couple of weeks, and staying there for a month and I am very excited about that because I am going to learn so much so I can't wait! and I can't wait to go to Amber's house in TN with Blaze to teach her some things about horses etc.

Of cours I have some more new video and they have turned out fantastic so here they are I hope everyone enjoys them.

Some thought and learning

The song that is on my blog really does explain my Journey. Lately I've been looking back to where I was when I first began Parelli, and where I am now. It is truly phenomenal because just as the lyrics said: "All my life
I've seen it in my dreams Waiting for the day I'm just a second away." and I'm just so happy that I am living my dream. I have figured out the past few days that even if your partner is being "pushy" you don't have to be firm and back them out of your space, rather just gently back them by the chest. Just as Honza Blaha says "By backing a horse up by wiggling the rope and they stick their head up you are teaching them to put their head up." And that is very true. Yes, I am starting to Learn by watching Honza Blaha, he has so much to offer me and Blaze.

Blaze has been advancing nicely, Tho he is probably a little upset that I have played with him so much, Got carried away with having a wonderful time. need to do some UDT-Undemanding time with him. the idea of piaffe is wonderful, he is doing very well with it, and very well with finesse in general.

Amour is just the cutest horse. I've taught her the Spanish walk, and also sideways to me, she is so smart and can learn something within 5 minutes. I'm just about ready to start L4 things with her.

Angel is Great to, I've rode her a little bit, slowly building her confidence under saddle since she tends to go catatonic. My friend Frances, really opened my eyes about a horse going catatonic, it is different from what I thought. she said "catatonic is the state of shock the horse goes into when they're about to be killed. It's mother natures way of making their death less painful." probably not exactly how she said it, but close. anyways Talking about a BFO! it totally made sense, Why didn't I know this before? Catatonic is ALLOT more extreme then I thought.

Joy is making great progress. I'm riding her more now that she is about to be 3. I cantered her last night, just allowing her to go where ever she wanted to, and she did really good. She is not at all concerned about me being on her back, she is totally LBI/LBE about it and really just doesn't like to go much, and it's not a "omgosh I'm to scared to go" it's a "Why should I? is there something in it for me? I must say this horse is so in Love with treats, I've never seen a Horse who loves treats as much as she does. her lying down is close, she goes on 2 knees easily and loves doing it now.

the others are in the process of learning the more advanced 7 games, like with obstacles etc.

I've played with a Horse everyday for the past 3/4 weeks. I am loving things.

It make some teary eyed just about every time I go to our pasture, Because I have 7 Horses meeting me at the gate like "Pick me! pick me!" there is nothing better then the feeling that ALL of your horses want to be with you.

He is just to smart!

Lately I have been playing with all of the horses allot since the weather has been so beautiful! everyone is making lots of progress.

I started playing with spirit the other day, I have learned that he is very unconfident under saddle, or bareback, and is so used to the pattern of people getting on, kicking to go, pulling to stop, etc. I showed him a different pattern. spirit has always had a rearing issue, ever since we got him in 2002? I believe, My mother, Janet, sent him to a trainer for 4 months and the trainer said he was a big challenge...back then we knew nothing of parelli, therefor who knows what abuse spirit went under, the trainer surely didn't solve the rearing issue, rather just the biting issue. anyways I got on spirit and just let him do whatever and then I slowly start guiding him where I wanted to go, and spirit started offering to trot with no rearing and even cantered a few strides, and I asked him to stop and got off and ended the session, like Pat Parelli says "end the session when things are at their best" and that is exactly what I did, spirit was shocked. before, Spirit would bolt off when you would take the halter off, this time he stayed with me and didn't want to leave my side, I believe that it was one of those sessions that you could truly say was it as good for you as it was for me? I think spirit would've said yes it was.

I haven't really started Joy all that much, just sitting on her back and letting her go where ever, she is a very confident horse, it does not scare her one bit with me sitting on her back at all gaits, the reason I haven't really started her is because for a QH she is kinda small and I didn't want to mess up her growing process but now she is almost 3, her Birthday is next month, just as mine. anyways I had a Good little ride on her guiding her around and she did really good.

I also Rode Angel, Angel has been different lately, every time you pick up the reins she sticks her head to the ground trying to avoid what you are asking her to do, when she did this i just played along and let her do it and didn't try to ask her to put her head down, I was starting to think it could be catatonic, but wasn't sure. but once I did that for a little bit she started doing better.

Amour was next, she is such a silly girl, she wanted to chew on the halter for a little bit, but once she was done I hoped up on her and then had a nice ride, I played with "tit for tat" since she had some where she wanted to go and after that we had a nice little canter up the hill, even tho her canter is way to fast! but we'll get that better over time.

he is just MARVELOUS!!! I've gotten more video since last time I wrote, Yes I have been making allot lately cause the weather and been beyond gorgeous lately, But it was very funny, Blaze is now offering piaffe, Funny thing about this is seems like every time I am determined to learn something, Blaze offers it with no problem when I'm not even asking for it YET...example, about a month or 2 ago I wanted to teach Blaze to lay down just by me tapping the ground, OK, I was telling My dear Friend Frances that I wanted to teach Blaze this so that same day I go to the pasture Not even asking for it and Blaze lays down ....now just today I was watching a video of a horse doing piaffe and I said I want to do that one day! and what do you know Blaze offers it today. seems like Blaze is always 1 step ahead of me, that or he just reads my mind. I've also been doing some jumping and barreal racing, Yes, Blaze was a Barrel racing horse before I got him so he is pretty good.....also our finesse has gradually improved allot since my last post, we only has 1 more thing to do in the finesse assessment list and that is flying lead changes with no log, so I am excited about that but also won't rush it because it just a string and certificate, and the relationship means the world to me! I am truly living my dream I have an amazing bond with my horse and that was my dream. I am just so humbled.

Feeling Positive and Progressive!

Friday, Me and my parents, and my brother, Elijah, went to Tennessee to look at some houses, and visit a church that we Plan on going to if we can move up there. it was a fantastic adventure, I haven't been to TN since I was 10. we Visited some family, and I also got to talk to the Pastor's wife at grace church, she has 5 Horses and wants me to teach her when we move to TN,
Crossing into TN felt like home, I wasn't born there, but I know it's where we're meant to be.

Here is our TN trip, I got allot of funny things filmed.

we Got home Sunday night around 1:30 Am, Annabell, (our 6 month old Pup) got Pregnant a few weeks ago by a neighbors dog. we got to the house and she had 5 girl pups that was born that day. she is a fantastic mother, considering her age, she is better then most mom's I've seen. Pretty neat that she had them on Resurrection day huh?

Monday, I went to work to find that my C2 Cradle bridle got here. that night, got home and tried it out and Blaze Loves it! he doesn't want to chew on it, or grind so to speak. he was perfect and very light for the matter, super glad I bought it, here are some photo's

Spring Fun

It's starting to Feel like spring, here in Georgia. Been beautiful these past few days, and I'm loving every minute of it.

I've been playing with all of them lately, I'll start out with Blaze of what I've been playing with.

Blaze

I've been playing around online and Freestyle, and also finesse, his Freestyle just keep improving, and I am striving to remind him that his "whoa" and "go" should be equal, not one more then the other. Yo-yo game is zone 3 and on the circle is coming along really nicely, his zone 3 yo-yo game has progressed to the point that we can do it at liberty, on the circling game he is still learning but coming good. Our finesse is beautiful, actually, I just purchased the C2 Cradle bridle today, should be here within a week and I can't wait to see how he likes it.

Angel

Angel and I have been playing with Freestyle and online, Freestyle is improving, the other day I rode her freestyle and she bucked allot but I rode her though it and the once she would offer the canter without bucking I go off immediately. Yesterday, I rode freestyle again, and she offered the canter without bucking at all. we also Played on-line, and I was teaching her how to bow, she is pretty unconfident about it, but we're getting there, just taking the time it takes with her confidence.

Joy

Joy and I've been also playing online, liberty and freestyle, Her liberty is great! she loves to chase me ad have fun bucking and kicking out at me. her online is Great! I'm teaching her to lay down, and just last night she went down on 2 knees like 10 times! she is a very confident horse, and just about nothing nothing scares her. she has been raised around people. anyways her freestyle is coming along, she is still learning what the reins mean, so I have been just doing passenger lesson.

Amour

Amour and I have been playing with online and Freestyle, her online is great, I've been teaching her how to bow, and she is almost going on 1 knee. her freestyle is Great! I'm just about ready to ride her bridle less and bareback, she is really good at the walk and trot, we're playing with getting her canter slower.

Spirit

I haven't been able to play with spirit much, but in fact, I did play with him last night. I was teaching him how to relax at the walk, (on the ground) he tends to hold his breath allot, so after that he started breathing and licking chewing etc. after that I was thinking about riding and decided not to just because He was doing fantastic on the ground and I didn't want to take a chance that things were not going to go good under saddle and ways taught him to bow which he learned that fairly fast and I was really proud of him.

This past Sunday me and mr. Blaze had allot of fun, and I took some pictures, and so did my dad and also got some video footage and made a video and it turned out beautifully, Enjoy.

More Progress...

Blaze, has been progressing really nicely these past few days, we both are really starting to communicate with each other, unlike before.

Blaze, now, has a beautiful little western Pleasure trot, and canter, he is just as prepared to 'stop', as he is to 'go' which is fantastic. every time he stops, I ask him to back up, which, has really began to improve his slid stops, tho he still stops on hos for hand, at times.

Tonight, I played with Blaze, first started on the ground with yo-yo in zone 3, and got some great stops so, that was our little "warm up" to get ready under saddle.'

I got on, and started Playing with our stopping, and backing, he didn't comprehend what I was asking at first, but I just took the time it takes til he understood it. I asked him to trot, he did really well with stopping and same with the canter. I Played a little bit with spins and got some really nice half spins, and then played around with some finesse.

We did some things like Haunches-in, Flying lead changes, shoulder-in, walk, trot, canter, etc. I think Blaze in a few weeks will be ready to assess Level 4 finesse, I just want to level out his whoa and Go, before I think about sending it in, also, improve his flying changes.

I trotted Blaze in a straight line and he didn't try to speed up but once, and I asked him to stop when I felt him speed up. played a little more with spins and Blaze offered and nice little spin, and then I got off.

Just to see how it was, I asked him to lay down, took a few attempts but he then laid down, what a smart fellow!

Overall, his progress is really fantastic, better then I thought it would be coming along, I am very very proud of him!

It's not a "Problem" it's "Communication"

Sunday, for the first time, I got help from a Parelli Professional.
Mr. David Lichman, I agreed to do his video-coaching, I sent him a video of Blaze's "Cantering Problem" Basically Blaze just canters to fast, and at the times that he is cantering slow if I put my leg on him to ask him to turn more he just speeds up.
Mr. Lichman Called and just gave me 3 things to try, for now.

1 Yo-Yo Game from zone 3. he said walk with Blaze along a fence, and me lift my left hand, stop, and go straight into a back-up, and if Blaze didn't do the same to Tap him on the chest and ask him to back to where you are.

2 Once Blaze has got that, he said do this, Play the same game, just combine it to the to the circling game.

3 (Under saddle) If Blaze sped up when I put my leg on him, (on a circle) turn him sharp though the center of the circle then turn him back on the circle.

I Got blaze really Good on his first exercise even got to where I could do it at the canter and stop and blaze would plant his QH's and back real quick with me.

I can do the second exercise on a circle and Blaze will stop, and back up fast, (we haven't got it at the canter yet, but he is doing really good and then once we get walk, trot, and canter, on the 12 then I'll move up to the 22 foot line, and then 45 foot line.

Now, Today I got those really good, and then I put my hand on Blaze's chest and the other hand on his wither, and Blaze laid down! so awesome. I got on and asked him to get up, and he did. And I started playing with the third exercise, got Blaze pretty good at the walk, Kinda had to remind him that it was the same thing as on the ground.

I Thought "why don't I try the trot...."
I asked him to and Guess what? SUPER SUPER slow trot and he was RELAXED!!! and then I asked for the canter and it was VERY slow too!!! I realized HELLO!! David knew that it would make it better under saddle, and that it has been a "Communication" ISSUE not a control "problem"
I remember before Pat Parelli saying "He wants his horses to ALWAYS be thinking back up when they stop" he was saying when he stops his horses he wants them to think "back up" I have forgotten all about this, I am Truly Glad I decided to go ahead and do this video coaching. me and Blaze still have a long ways, (work things up to canter slow on a straight line) But I am ready for the process.
anyways after I was done I just sitting on him rewarding him and Blaze just laid down!! and I didn't even ask him to! it was so neat. Blaze is starting to offer things, he even offered a little passage! I can't wait to keep progressing!

also, we are visiting TN in 2 weeks, to look at some ranches and visit a church up there, I can't wait!

Busy.....

The Title says it all.

I've been Super busy This week, working, Playing with Horses, studying, etc.
I have been saving for a C2 Cradle Bridle and I have $107 saved! that means I have $200 left to go, which, I "should" Have the money either this week, or next week.

Ms. Jennifer Mcinvale wants me to teach at her Parelli Summer camp this year, (in June) I will not be participating But, she wants me to be her assistant Instructor. I am Pretty exited about that, next week I will be going over her house so that we can com up with some lessons For those 5 days at camp, looks like this year will be more focused on finesse, which she wants Me to help allot with that sense I know a pretty good bit about finesse, it is my Favorite savvy. this be a Good way to test my savvy, and not only that, it'll be a Good teaching experience.

I haven't played with Blaze in few days, but I have been doing some 'UDT with him and he has been enjoying that.
However, I have been Playing with Ms. Amour, she is a Making Fine Progress! she has learned how to back by the tail, circling pattern under saddle, sideways game, and some respect. The other day I had a very fun 3 Horse liberty session in our 5 acre pasture with Angel, Joy, and Amour, it was one of the best Feelings to have 3 horses running after you and jumping around kicking and having fun, it was neat when I ran up to this Fallen tree and they all jumped it and came with me, it was just so great.

Hopefully tonight I will be able to Play with Blaze and do some liberty or Finesse.

Sweet Amour

The other day I played with Ms. Amour.
Her sideways game has been very sticky. She is a dominant horse, so you can imagine that her porcupine game is kinda hard at times. the sideways game makes where she has to move her FQ's and Her HQ's at the same time, she does not like that at all. I asked her to walk and start moving sideways and she was very confused and I helped her and she started having a tantrum. I asked her to go again and she turned real quick and kicked and hit my right hand, it hurt pretty bad at first but I didn't stop to check on it.

After that, she started doing a real good sideways game to the right, and even started doing it without a fence.

Something around where we were started spooking her and she almost ran other top of me a few times, and all I was hearing in my head was Pat parelli saying "If you are the leader of the herd, the horse will try to avoid running over you." It wasn't said exactly like that, but just for an example. Obviously that means that Amour does not look at me as her Leader, but just another member of the herd. I need to fix this, because it is very Dangerous for any horse to run over you and turn around and kick you.

I have some things I can play with, I know I need to get her respect with the porcupine game better she is real hard to move at times. She has learned allot of LBI Behavior in her 5 years on this earth.

Online-Finesse....Progress!!

Today was Rather Fun and quite interesting.

I first Played with Mr. Blaze on-line, I started out just getting our sideways toward me a little more refined, he tends to lag his QH's allot. after I was done with That I taught Blaze how to do Haunches-in From zone 5, with 1 rein. he was really good on one side, But the other wasn't as good. since he can do Haunches in to the left under saddle and can't do it AS WELL to the right, but we're getting their and fixing it on the GROUND first, (Thanks Fran for that Advice.) so I have decided to play with our circling more, Blaze is Pretty good, but I haven't asked him to really circle in a long time, so I will be asking for more laps at the canter with me in Neutral-no nagging. I tend to catch myself clucking allot, I know that must get SO annoying to Blaze. so any how, that is what I am Playing with.

so anyways I asked for the circling game and he tends to pull on me going to the left so I played with that til he stop ed pulling, then I went to 2 reins-zone 5 driving and played with weave with simple lead changes, Hopefully before long we'll be able to get flying lead changes, just need to get those haunches in better and we'll get there quickly. tho I am taking the time it takes, no rushing!
I was finally done with that and figured how about I play with our Draw at liberty, and he was really good I was really focusing on my energy and my belly button, I was trying make sure I wasn't driving him away, and he did awesome, and we played some stick to me and he was fantastic! and also did some zone 5 driving at liberty, he was REALLY good.

I then put the bridle on Blaze and got on bareback and did a warm up Walk-Trot-Canter each way-RELAXED! and then started with our finesse session. Blaze was really good with his canter walk transitions so I asked him to do some flying lead changed over this small log and he did FANTASTIC!!!! was so balanced, hopefully, we will be able to do it without the log in a few weeks, I also played with Haunches-In and he did REALLY great to the left I didn't even ask for it and he offered it so I was like NEAT! and we got a few steps to the Right. it was super! then I asked it without the fence to the left and he did great! then I angled my body and had a suspension rein, and supported with my right rein, and got a Fabulous side pass. he was really listening to me we can't so it to the right yet without a fence, but we're playing with it! after all that we had a very nice and relaxing ride around the pasture, did follow the rail and played in the lake some since it was perfect weather out side. and ended it after all that. It was so awesome, I am really learning allot and now saving for Karen Rolf's Book and Walter Zettle's DVDs. I am seeking more Knowledge about Finesse!

well after a Long Great day I think it is time for me to hit the hay ;)

Fun in the sun!!

so today was a rather fun and interesting day.

first off I was Going to bring Blaze, Amour, Joy, and Angel, up to the round pen, and since the round pen is on the other side of the lake now, I didn't want to make 4 drips, tho it would be some nice exercise. me being lazy I haltered all 4 and had 4 lead ropes, and on my way I went. of course, Blaze wanted to lag behind and so did Ange, and the 2 good girls- Amour and Joy stayed close to me.

skip onto what we did.
started out I Played a little with 4 horse liberty, that was fun! everyone did great. then I Taught Joy to lay down, she did fantastic! what a smart little girl, I can't wait to teach her everything Blaze can do. then teach Blaze to Jump over her (tho I will be VERY careful with that)

Then rode her a little, and then rode Amour Bridle less, and bare back and Angel to. and we played with our freestyle, and they both did pretty good. Angel bucked a little and so did Amour, silly girls. then I got off and started teaching Angel to bow, which, I have to be EXTREMELY careful with Angel, since she is a RBI, she can go catatonic very easily, so I taught her to bow. and almost taught Amour to bow.

after I was done with that I Practiced My level 4 online audition! with Mr. Blaze. he did FANTASTIC!! Tho, Our Flying lead changed were um a little rusty! tho we are working on them, his trailer load was awesome! got him to trot into the trailer from 45 feet away, then we went on long line driving and he did fantastic simple lead changes, and weave and learning haunches in! we'll get there. then I hoped on and went for Freestyle and he was FANTASTIC again! we are almost ready to Film L4 freestyle, just need a little more control at the canter!

everything is going so Great with all of them. I am Having so much fun learning new things, and tomorrow I'm Gonna play with Finesse, and flying lead changes, and possibly shoulder in-Haunches in. and side passes. and play with some patterns with the girls, maybe Online for Joy...Freestyle for Amour and Angel and some online for them both.

well Gonna go eat dinner here in a few.

OK yeah so I've been absolutely terrible lately at keeping This Blog updated! My my apologies to all my Savvy friends!

so As usual The rain has been preventing me from being able to play much and it drives me Crazy! I think we've gotten more rain in 2 months then we did in 2008 and 2009! which is crazy!

OK so The other day I FINALLY got to ride Blaze and for our warm up I ride him bridle less and asked him to walk trot canter in bother directions then some simple lead changes and then we did some spins and some roll backs and all that good stuff.\

so I got off put the bridle on him after making a couple of adjustments to the bridle. got on and we played with a soft feel at the walk trot and canter, Honestly I think Blaze HATES the confidence bit. because he was chewing on it and yanking on it allot! time to save for the cradle ay? any who then I played with haunches-in and he did it perfect to the left! I mean PERFECT!! we're still working on going to the right tho we got a couple of steps! I did a few other things with haunches-in which I really think if I keep at it that haunches-in will help our lead changes well actually I know it will help them! But anyways I hope to film my level 4 Finesse audition soon, once I have the lead changes and the haunches in. and Hopefully I will have a new video of all our progress in a few days here.

well it's sunny out side so I'm going to go play with my wonderful horses!

so Yeah The tittle says it all...I WANT TO PLAY WITH MY HORSE!! I haven't been able to play at all for almost a week! O.o and I have barely got to play with him for a month. first it was rain...then Freezing cold...then snow...then more cold...then rain some more! I would have played Monday Tuesday and Wednesday but yeah Monday went to work. Tuesday had to go to work because we Go skating afterwards. and Wednesday I had youth group and today my dad needed me to work.

so Yeah I am Hopping that things will get back to normal. Not being able to Play drives me Crazy! not to mention that the weather is PERFECT! besides the rain.

Hey savvy Friend of Mine! been a while since I've posted anything! I've been very busy with Horses, skating with family, working out, and Hanging out with my 2 wonderful brothers Aaron and Elijah. and This year has started out Great! Parelli went ahead and officially Passed me as Level 1 and 2 since I already Passed Level 3 and Level 4 liberty. Speaking of Level 4, I should be filming my Online audition in a few days! just Gotta get my dad or brother out there to film, But the wimps say it's to cold ;) he he well It is Pretty cold But I can handle it!

My mom got me this Book Called "the circle of trust" By Walter zettl. and I have been enjoying reading it, it is helping me allot, and I'm learning allot of new things about Horses and the horse business such as Breeding and training etc. I Think everyone should get this book! very helpful indeed.

Besides that I have been playing allot online with Blaze and he is doing very well with everything! we've got simple lead changes from zone 5! hopefully to have flying lead changes before you know it, also got my confidence snaffle bit and Blaze seems to like it allot better and I've Been playing around with finesse! he is doing really good! all we need is about 3 things and I'll be able to audition! hopefully to pass But if Not that's fine with me! hehe.

The other Horses I haven't played much with lately! Trying to get some Goals for each horse and start working on them, I do Think That Hope will take me far in the Parelli program, she is such a talented Horse! and very smart.

Angel has been a little different Lately, like extreme RBI and acting crazy if you ask her to do something new, not sure what;s going on! but we will get though it together.

But Really I have a question.....WHO TURNED ON THE FREEZING COLD!!!!?!?!!?!? OK I may seem like a baby But I miss my 40s/50s in the day and 30s at night! But now 30s in the day and 15 at night!? that is not right! I feel for y'all up north, because i couldn't live any were that was below 0! I mean WOW way to cold! I would like have 5 jackets on and 7 pairs of pants LOL but anyways Just felt like saying that he he.

well anyways I have some Goals I have for 1010! and Btw HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!

anyways here is some

2010

1. Pass Level 4 before My 16th birthday

2. Possibly start gieving lessons

3. Buy a farm that has arena/barn pretty much everything we need

4. Go to my first clinic

5. Bring Hope and angel though Level 3 and 4

6. teach blaze piaffe and passage

7. This summer Go down to Mirka's farm with Blaze for the summer and learn as much as possible from her

Lately Things have been quite crazy. with Christmas coming up, and I still haven't got no Christmas shopping done for anyone! "eeeep!" and It has rained everyday for the past week, so I haven't gotten to play at all (Feeling like I'm going insane Because I haven't played for that long.) but any who when it drys I will be filming my level 4 Online and Freestyle, I have went over the self assessment list and we can do everything on them, also we can do everything on Finesse list but 2 things (side pass and looking the direction he's going. and flying lead changes.) but with everything else, we are good. I have figured out how to teach blaze flying lead changes, so I will be teaching him when it gets dryed up out side

also I am so excited to get Mirka's Pitts, dvd on spinning, and I will be getting a Parelli confidence snaffle for Christmas and I can't wait to see how Blaze likes it.

I have been learning lots about finesse lately, and I figured out a few things that need to change with Blaze

I have been teaching blaze all types of new stuff lately, I have taught him to lay down without me picking up his leg, and he will lay down from under saddle too, I've been playing with flying lead changes over a pole and he is doing great with that, I want to refine it more before I try without the pole. our zone 5 driving is amazing! he will do finesse with me in zone 5, at liberty in the middle of the pasture he will back 1 lap around me, each way. Our finesse in general is Great! he will do haunches in the right way! (still refining it tho) we're playing with passage right now and he is doing great!

here are a few goals I have for us.

1: Flying lead changes without a pole

2: passage

3: side pass (with blaze looking the way he is going) walk/trot/canter

Angel

Lately I have just been advancing Angel's online, because it's been so wet, (safer) and she is doing really well. I've been teaching her to lay down (almost there) :) and once she does it I'm Gonna start doing stuff that Honza does with 2 horses (like getting one t jump over the other while it's laying down)

Hope

Hope is Officially a Super Learner! in less then a month she is in Level 3 with allot of things, she will canter 2 laps trot as many as I want her too, since she us a LBE it's hard to get her to slow down! haha, she will jump anything I ask her too and will bow. and we can play stick to me a liberty, and Online she will stick to me at the canter

Yesterday I went to ms Jennifer's house for a Play day. me and My brother was going, ad it was Angel's first time being any were since we bought her, (2 years ago) she did very well loading, and seemed fine, we arrived around 10 Amish? anyways....we got there and unloaded the horses and Julia (Julpony) on the parelli forum came, and we met. everyone got there, so we went and all played in the big play ground, Angel was calm and Cool, awesome for her first time being some were but she is Naturally RBI so she doesn't let her emotions out much. Blaze was doing very well also, everyone was having fun. we moved to the arena were My brother rode angel and I rode Blaze. angel was doing very well, she got frustrated a few times, s we had to be careful. then I let Julia ride Blaze around for a while and I rode misty bridle less. then we had a competition were we went though a course that we made up, everyone did Great, Elijah was the judge, because Angel isn't used to all types of obstacles, But Blaze was Great did every obstacle perfect, so I as very proud of him. at the end Iplayed around with 2 horse liberty, Angel didn't wanna stay with us so I just played with Blaze,

all n all we had a Great time. can't wait for camp next summer, hopefully I will be able to teach some again, it was Great meeting you Julia! your a great rider :D and you did a Great job with misty!

Now I'll tell about my On line session!
Tonight I started playing with blaze at either.....7:30 PM ? or something like that so it was dark, and we have a light at the pasture so I could see.

So I started out with the friendly game, just making sure our friendly game, and actually Blaze was RBI, head to the ground, even snorting a bit, and a little tense. so I finished the friendly game was did porcupine game, and teaching blaze to pivot, and I did get him to pivot both ways! then driving game and got blaze to pivot, he was fantastic!

when I got to the Yo-Yo game I found that our draw was broke, "How interesting!" so I played with backing him up fast and bring him in slow to rest, once our draw was better I moved on, to the Circling game, and what do you know our send was broke "How interesting! again" since I have been back from Lake land I haven't played much on-line or liberty, so i guess I had to refresh his mind, but once I got to the circling game I figured out that my long phase 1 was to short. I did about a 3 second phase 1 and a quick 2-3-4, and he needed about a 10 second phase 1 and a quick 2-3-4. so I pointed...waited waited waited....then quick 2-3-4 and he just nodded his head. so I started again long phase 1..............quick 2-3-4 and Presto he went off at the trot and I hit the ground were he was but he already left so he didn't get taped, and because I did that he did not pull on me once (he was just about at the end of the 45 foot) and before he ALWAYS pulled on me when I first started out playing it,

so after I got that "lovely circle" from him I bring him in, rubbed and treat and sent him out and his send I had to do the same thing as the first time, and he went off at the trot, and I asked him to canter presto! "phase 1! I moved on to the left and he doesn't like going left and to make the circle faster he comes allot closer to me "smart boy ay? but it doesn't bother me if he wants to circle close then great.

after all that I did some figure 8's at they were great! allot better then before (he would really pull coming from right to left) and played with some change or direction,

Then I moved on to long-line driving and just walked around some then I picked up the reins and got him to do finesse and get collected while I was in zone 5! I barely had any contact on the reins and I asked for trot and he was just lovely. collected his body and beautiful BEAUTIFUL trot, and I asked for canter and he went on. and I asked him to stop and back half a circle "phase 1!" and I did a few other things and then took the line off

and got him to pivot at liberty (he's still learning but he got it almost down!) and then played the circling game to the right and he was great asked for trot and he offered canter! got 2 laps and I said "that's good enough for me!" and I asked for the left and we started loosing the connection so I just moved on and didn't worry about it, so I wanted to do something fun, so me and Blaze played the cutting game and WOW best cutting game we've ever had, he wasn't just rearing and turning like most of the time, he was really looking like a cutting horse! ("now if I could only get him to do that with a cow) lol too bad we have none lol!

and played with backing by the tale and got him to lay down and he just hung out. (he almost fell asleep) ow I had a confident LB horse :) and I asked him to sit and he did a great one! even let me pick up his hoof and put it on my shoulder (like Honza and Gaston!) and I let him get up and ended th session. it was so relaxing, I figured out most of our bad sessions has definitely been because of me, 1 cause I haven't been using my body language that much "eep! 2 haven't been doing a long enough phase 1..3 haven't been letting blaze make the mistake before I correct.

Tonight when we were done I am serious I asked him "was it as good for you as i was me?" and I thik e said ye :)

Meet Ms Hope!

That's right! 8 horses now. Hope is an Extreme LBI. she used to be the leader in her herd and she does not like that I am now the leader. she has already went after our dog trying to stomp her brains out. and went after Blaze. today I have been teaching her the 7 games and she doesn't know how to move against pressure very well. but we are playing with it. she is very very smart. I have a great challenge on my hands. she is 5 years old. and she has many breeds mixed into her. she is part saddle bred. part arab. part QH. and Tobiano paint. so she has one horsenality for sure. she is the same size as Blaze. I have already had a short ride on her and she was pretty good I must say!

I've got big plans for her.

now things that has been going on lately
I have been forther advancing Me and Blaze's Freestyle and Finesse. I have especially avoided finesse long enough. anyways. I have taught Blaze to put his head down at the walk and Trot. and we have gained allot of control at freestyle since then. Blaze can now spin. it isn't to fast but it is getting better. Finesse has been amazing. I have been using a halter cause we are not ready for a bridle right now. (plus I wouldn't use one til I had a cradle anyways)

Blaze is super Light. I can just hold the reins with my pinkie and he will collect him self at the walk and trot. and his cater is getting allot lighter too. our haunches in has been getting better too. taking it nice and slowly.

I've bee riding angel some lately and she is coming along very well. were playing with main taining gaits and direction.

Joy is a little goof ball. I have been playing on the ground with her and also riding her some. she is coming along very very well for her age.

Midnight and I had a fun little session the other day. OK I'll take back "little session" because it was a almost 3 hour session. we played in he little paddock. and played with his respect because he thinks he can just stick his QHs in my face and walk off. so I taught him not to leave unless I let him. and we played with the trailer got all 4 feet in! and then I rode him for about 2 hours and we played with standing still. which was hard because he was away from the rest of the herd and he wanted his way ad wanted to g back up there. so he try ed to buck me off a few times but I just stayed with him til he stood still.

also. Tonight My mom came in here and told me we might be getting this free horse that is about a mile away from here. we see this horse everyday on our way to work. and poor thing is in a tiny pen with another horse and it is just dirt. they keep hay out but it isn't enough so she is kinda skinny. I hope we can get her because if we don't she will go to someone that might treat her bad. *crossing fingers*

how was Lakeland FL?

I"ve been asked this question allot. and it went amazing!! we got there Thursday at 1 pm. and was greeted by someone that we all know ;) Mariah Helms :) and we got all signed in and got Blaze a paddock. and Blaze was scared and RB to be in a new Place. Blaze's stall was under the parelli tent with there Horses :) they told us how everything was Gonna Go. we got to practice that night in the arena. and Blaze was RB in there cause he's never been in a indoor arena. but once we played more he got to be his self. and blew some socks off. with the people that worked for Parelli. the Celebration started Friday and it was Great the spotlighters were awesome. really really enjoyed them allot. we got to practice in the arena again that night. I started getting nervous. because I knew I knew I KNEW Blaze wasn't gonna be as good as he was in practice cause there was other horses in there. anyways Mariah and Holly's spotlight was awesome they both did Great! I was the last freestyle. and it went just like I knew it would. Blaze got RB and I got on and then Pat asked us to get off and gave us a lesson.

after we calmed Blaze down Pat gave us one song and Blaze did Pretty Good. and I wasn't disapoited. because has nothing to prove to Pat or the crowd. Linda Parelli and allot of the others know Blaze and know what he can really do. so I was fine and just super happy and proud of Blaze cause it did go better than I thought it would. Linda was so sweet. she I was Happy that we could finally meet. she's said before that she couldn't wait to meet me and Blaze so I was Happy. and she is so Nice. me and Mariah and Me had a Great Time practiceing and getting pictures together. she is such a nice person. and Blaze totally loved sundance he is such a sweet Horse

and Mirka Mirka WOW!!!!!!!!!! she is amazing and SOOOOOO Nice and helped me and Blaze spin. she blew everyones socks off with her Horse Magie. got her L6 ribbon! was the only one who did. and was awesome.

Less Than 1 day

well BE IN LAKE LAND!!!!!! that's Right. we leave at either 4 am tomorrow morning. or 5 am tomorrow morning. boy are we Gonna be tired or what! I a so excited. so much to do to day like..........Give Blaze a bath. brush him. Pack all my stuff. The trailer floors will be done today. it was 10 pm last night when we go the floors half was. but we were to tired to finish. so my dad went to the business today to finis it up. and my brothers are gonna help him. he said he didn't need my help so I stayed home so I can get everything ready for tomorrow.

I'm s excited. it still seems like a Dream. but it is a Dream coming true! I can't what to see some of my fellow Savvy friends and Play with each others Horses. ad get pictures taken! I'll be taking tons of pictures and videos so every ones can see. ad yes my spotlight will be filmed for sure so don't worry :)

I think Blaze is Ready. he has Benn such a Good boy. and trying his heart out for me.I am s Proud of him and everything we have learned. I just wish he knew we were leaving tomorrow. but then again he would probably take off andbe like "nooooooooooo no I don't wanna go" lol!!!

Whoa!! before and after -trailer-

My dad and me have been fixing up our horse trailer. it had rust all over it. and was in awful shape. blown tires etc etc. so we jus got it painted. we took out the old floors. (putting in new floors tomorrow)
the guy that painted it knows my dad and owes him alot of money. so he said he would paint the trailer for free. so FREE PAINT JOB!!!

yup! were almost ready for Lakeland! out trailer is in the process of getting painted. it has new tires on it. and nw brakes. and should be done by monday. then we put the floors in. and well be ready!

I've been Practiceing with Blaze allot. and I think he is ready! we just need to get some things nice and smooth. we can now do a spin without blaze rearing and turning. and yes I taught him to rear and turn, but I want to him to know the difference. in me asking for a rear spin or just a spin. and we got it going to the left. and still playing with going to the right! but well have it in no time.

well Today after I was done mowing the lawn and cleaning I went to check my email! and I just havin to see the Subject "you're audition" and I was like oh here we go I didn't pass. and I look at the score and got a Level 4 + pass! I couldn't believe it! I rally just sent it for feedback since it wasn't that good. and I did not exspact to pass, I am so Happy! and will be filming my On line myabe tonight when my dad gets home with the trailer!

WOW! we Have so much to Get ready!! this is Gonna be ALLOT Harder then I thought it was O.O! I say this because Parelli wants you to Bring allot! ad our Trailer is not big enough....But we might be able to find a bigger trailer by then (Hopefully)

so here is Parelli's Check list

-Riding Clothes - Whatever you plan to ride in - jeans, jodhpurs, boots, long and short sleeve
shirts, etc. CHECK

-Suitable Footwear if you are Riding - This would include shoes with flat soles and a heel.
The Parelli program is very much about safety with horses and this is a simple requirement to
make sure we succeed. CHECK

-Grooming Tools and Supplies - Brushes, Soap, etc. We don’t reward or recommend that you lip your horse especially the muzzle or inside the ears. We also strongly suggest that you clean
with natural grooming products not containing artificial conditioners such as silicon. CHECK but Need some soap!

-Manure Fork, Wheelbarrow/Bucket, Broom, Water Hose CHECK

-Feeding Supplies - Grain, Hay, Feed & Water Buckets, Scoops, Supplements, Treats, etc. CHECK

-Video Camera - CHECK

Now here is my little Plan to mae this trip really fun
I was talking to my brother last Night and I came up with this neat idea. My trip down there and getting there and practicing Just about EVERYTHING is gonna be on film! (if my brother will film for me) then if that happens I'm gonna make it like a movie so y'all can see EVERYTHING that happened! from when we left, from stopping on the way, to when we gt there, etc etc.

I think it's gonna be fun!

Perfected Sitting!

Today we had to bring Blaze to the Vet for His coggins and health Certificate and shots etc. so when we got there Blaze was real good for the vet, and before That the Blaze kept pawing, so when the vet was done I asked him to do the spanish walk, cause he wanted a treat, so the vet thought Blaze was being snotty, and he was like "wait, did you ask him to do that?" and I said yes, and he was like "oh sorry" and his assitant said what else can he do? and I said he can rear lay down and sit, etc etc. an she said OH can I see him lay down? and I said sure! and when we got Blaze there he was RB wondering what was going on, and by then he was fne. so anyways I got him to lay down and they said COOL! and then when I gothim to sit they were in shock! the vet said Blaze was amazing!!

and later on The vet called woundering were he could find my videos on youtube LOL

We know this event is completely different than anything Parelli has ever done and is something the horse industry has never seen! Parelli students everywhere are wanting to take part, and YOU are making history as one of the first!

On line and Freestyle

Lately I have been playing On line and allot of Freestyle
and Our On line is Fantastic! He'll canter as many laps as I want him to on the 45 foot line (with me standing in place relaxed) but of course I don't ask him ever to canter over 5 laps because I know if I were him I wouldn't want to canter allot of laps. lol. I've also been doing allot of long line driveing, and he is just about perfect at it!! our figure 8 is beautiful!! just like in the L4 patterns figure 8. how Pat barely moves at all, just back and forth. so he has that down pat ;) and been doing allot of circleing game with long lines, and he is Great! will walk trot canter backup. (he'll back up 2 laps!)

and Our freestyle is coming along very nicely! I no longer have to worry about him cantering or trotting to fast! Just trying to get him to really understand my body Language more than my legs. and yesterday I fell off him. and hit the drive way real hard. and got hurt, but I'm in some pain, but i'll heal quick!

Today was Really fun, with Blaze.
I started out on Getting him to jump 1 barrel at the end of the 22 foot line, cause I haven't done much jumping in a while, and he has been going around the barrel when I do ask, so I played with the for a few minutes, and she was Great! started jumping every time I asked him. then I switched to the 45 foot line and Blaze did flying lead changes on a figure 8! which was cool.

and after that I taught Blaze to Trot sideways toward me, and that went very well! he was Great! and we ran around the pasture doing all types of stuff, just playing around with everything.

after that I got Blaze to lay down, and Played extreme Friendly game, and got him to lay all the way down on his side and I stood on him and did Extreme friendly game. and after that he got up and sat! he has never afford to do that so it was cool, and he sat all the way up, finally. before his feet were far out in front, and now the are straight, so I gave him a few treats, and played extreme friendly game, and he didn't get up, and I mounted him while he was sitting! YES another Goal checked :)

so I ended it at that

Then later on I came back and I couldn't resist I played again, and I played with Transitions on line, and he was GREAT! all Low phase 1 and 2, he is really started to Naturally collect him self too! very neat stuff, he is also started to use his HQs, after that we did more UDT and I gave him a bath, well more like just washed him off with the water hose, lol

Tomorrow I'm Gonna play with Flying changes, cause I figured out a few things I was doing wrong, and I'm going to correct them tomorrow and see if it works, I post on how it goes

the perfect day

The title tells it all, today was the perfect day, 70s out side clear blue sky!
so here we go!

It's been about a month since I've rode Blaze Bridle less and bareback. cause I've been doing so many transitions, and doing more finesse. so today I said well might as well see how he is, so I got on top of the 4 wheeler and asked him to side pass to me, (I didn't have a carrot stick, was just gonna ride him with nothing no savvy string to) anyways. so I got on, and just started walking around the pasture, and it was really cool, because, if I would turn my body to the left he would turn left, and same to the right, then I just thought backwards, and leaned backwards and he backed!!!! Wow!!!

then when I asked him to spin, he did a slow spin!! and when I asked him to move his HQs in a circle he did!!! I was totally amazed! so I asked him to trot a figure 8, and he just started slowly jogging, and OK, he has NEVER done that without speeding up in the trot, so that was HUGE!! those transitions really work! then I asked him to do simple lead changes on the figure 8 and he was perfect, will have those flying lead changes down before you know it!

so after I was done with all that, I thought we should go up to the house (which is across the scary Dam, and we played with his thresholds, (it's scary for him cause the lake is one one side of it, and an almost straight down drop off is on the other side) (don't worry there is a fence) but it was a squeeze game for him, so we went to the other side, and right to the left is a trail that goes deep in the woods down to the creek, and I've never been down there before with him, and he turned and started going down there, and I'm like "OK, I didn't ask for this way, But maybe I should let him go and have a nice lil trail ride" But be careful because I had no carrot stick no savvy string no nothing, but I was gonna trust him, so we start heading down the hill with spider webs hitting my face, (they were up high and me riding him made were they were hitting me) I called him lucky, lol, but out of no were a tree branch fell some were in the woods, and his head went up, but Guess what? He didn't spook! he was like "what was that?" then was over it xD!

so we went to were the creek was, and I wasn't gonna ask him to go in, cause you have to go down this little muddy thing that goes down into it, and he would get stuck, and the sand in the creek would make him get stuck to, so I asked him to turn around, and we trotted on the trail, (a controlled trot) and we went back up the steep hill, back to the pasture next to the house, it was so lovely, I never had to trust him that much, cause were we we're there was no fences, so he could have ran away with me on him, cause there was no way to stop him if he did,

anyways after wards I did some UDT around the house, and he was so cute, I layed on the ground and he came to me and wanted to hang out, and he kept biting my pockets, then trying to kiss me, lol! so after about 30 minutes I went running back across the Dam back up to the pasture, and he didn't follow, then out of no were I hear the loud Winnie, and here he is cantering after me, and he stoped when he got to me and I jumped on him real quick and we went back to the building,

it Most definitely the perfect day, to bad the camera was broke because it would have been one amazing Video!

Success and Goals

Lately I've been doing Transitions with Blaze everyday. and he has been doing fantastic! he now will stay at 1 speed at the trot, unless I ask other wise, and the canter is getting allot better too! we did 1 lap with a very slow canter each way! he still is more prepared to go then he is to whoa, which we're getting there, by lake land he should be just about perfect. I also have taught him when he is laying down to lay his head on me! which is so cute haha. our newer trailer he was scared to go in because he can't turn around in it, but finally he is over that and will go in with no problem, even on a 45 foot line, and will back into it, and his turning when backing by the tail or me just backing is perfect, I don't even have to touch his tail and he will back and turn whatever way I won't him to turn, yay!

and here are a few goals I have

1: lead changes

2: build his neck muscle

3: be able to do finesse better

4: get 3 speeds within a gait bridle less

5: get his sitting longer, and him knowing what I really mean

6: get him to look in the direction he is going, when doing a side pass (he looks the other way and his shoulder leads)

so just a few goals I have, I know not all of that is gonna happen before lakeland, But hopefully a few will, I've also been playing around with shimming because Blaze had dry spots the other day, and now I might need to buy a couple of more shims.

so I've just been playing with allot of stuff, we have been makeing allot of Sucess

Transitions!

lately Me ad Blaze have been doing LOTS of transitions, because he always goes fast when riding such as walk trot and canter, well his walk isn't really fast but everything else is......so Thanks to Cassie and Fran, I have been doing things to build his core, and to help him get slower in his gaits, and so I've been doing Transitions, and I haven't played with Transitions like I should have because before I did it and nothing never happened, little did I know I wasn't doing them long enough, and so I did it for more than an hour the other night, and around the end he started just ding a very slow jog, I was like OMGOSH because he has NEVER EVER done that on a loose rein, it was amazing, so yesterday, I rode him again, and at first he was fast, but first thing he saw that we were ding transitions he slowed down, and every gate, even the canter, it was too amazing, and I even had him a very loose rein, it was so cool! we did that for about 30 minutes,and I warlike woooooooooooooooooow! because this whole time I figures out why he wanted to go fast all the time, and that is because I always wanted him to d, but never really played with our stop, so he was more ready to go, then he was ready to whoa, and it was that simple, one of those "OH DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!!!!!!!!" moments, but he is doing great!

we also are going to pick up our horse trailer were buying tomorrow, it's a 2 horse straight load, which all we need, and it's red, and just needs t be painted, and her daughter does berral racing, and I hope maybe I can get them into parelli, the daughter likes parelli, but doesn't think she can barrel race and do parelli, which she can, (I wasn't there when she said that) and she wasn't there tonight, but should be there tomorrow, and there son was very nice to, he likes "breaking horses" ick, hate that word, lol but he doesn't know better, they are a very nice family!

and tomorrow my mom is calling the vet to figure out how much cog gins are, and were gonna get that done, soon and get a Health certificate, and well be set for lakeland, just need to buy our tickets, and when the time comes will be read to go, I really can not wait allot of my friends are going, and some people I haven't got to meet in person ad just know from the savvy club, and it'll be really nice to meet in person, hopefully I won't be RBI haha, like I was in Jacksonville last year, but if I am oh well hehe

Finesse

Lately I've been reading my Mastery Manual #7 on flexion, and "wow!" I have allot to play with before I can even do finesse, such as.....first I need to build Blaze's core muscle, he is every weak there, so I'm going to start backing him up steep hills, to build that, and his top line is not the best, so I'm going to start trotting him over poles to improve that. and also I have allot to improve myself with to even be able to ride with finesse. I need to build my core muscles, and learn how to do all of this, it is VERY confusing, I need a Professional here! lol! (never been to one) O.O! I figured out I am stiff when I ride blaze sometimes, and Blaze does not use his back and he doesn't use his HQs

I was looking at some pictures I had, and I was leaning forward, and Blaze wasn't using his HQs AT ALL!and I figured out when I ride angel she has this HUGE canter, because she is using her whole body, and Blaze is short fast and choppy, so I have allot I have to do!! I'm gonna work hard on getting my self to know how to do this, and build blaze;s core muscle, and get him to start using those HQs, he always stops on his for hand, and that has to stop! lol! I always was wondering when he stops why do I always fall forward, even if I'm on my balance point, and that is why! he isn't using his HQs! I have a picture of that, and have another O.O!! lol, also I'm gonna have to buy a confidence bit for Blaze, then see how he does with that, then save up and buy a cradle

also, I'm gonna be getting Blaze's coggins done soon, just in case if were picked for lake land spotlight. I'm VERY excited, cause just about EVERYONE I know on the savvy club chat room is going, HOPEFULLY I won't be RBI like I was at Jacksonville FL, last year, but I'm getting better with people, my problem is trying to keep a conversation with someone! I'm like hi, then don't know what to say LOL!

Ok! Hello! so lately I've been sorta busy again, I've been playing with the horses more, some intresting ones with Angel, Joy, and Blaze. and they are doing Great things, I saddled up Joy the other day, and we had our first canter!! been walking and trotting for a few months (bareback) and this was the first time with a saddle on (when me riding) and we did walk trot and canter! both ways with no bucking!! for a 2 year old she is so sweet! and very easy to teach, (LBI/LBE)

Then that same day once i got off Joy, I saddled up Angel, and Angel is more advanced under saddle now, (L2/L3 stuff) and for a 3 year old she is very impressive! I've been only riding her with a halter and 12 foot line tied into reins, and bareback or saddle, and here is some stuff she can do with a saddle and halter, and without it, she knows how to go sideways (bridle less and bareback) can back (briddle less and bareback with legs) and walk trot canter, turn, jump (bridle less and baeback) and all with a halter and saddle on too! and I do have to be careful because she is RBI, and will explode if you push her to hard (I figued out this when she filped over on me last year) :O but it was my fault, and that is another long story. but I've been playing more out side the round pen, trying to get her to maintain Gait, she will at the walk and most of the time the trot, but the canter she'll buck a little, but nothing big, so we've been playing allot with that, and i've got her to maintain 1 lap at the canter in the pasture! yay! very proud of my girl, here are some pictures of her from the other night and some of just the saddeon her (after I was done riding)

Now on to Blaze
Blaze is starting to just be more amazing everytime I play with him, we have now at liberty got our draw backwards with turns! (not holding the tail) what a smart boy! ay? and we have been playing with our figure 8! and I figured out that is more confident with me on his left side, and puts me in zone 3, so I've been trying to get him confident on his right side! and that's going great, and I'd like to say THANK YOU FRAN! foryour advice!! :D but our draw on the figure 8 (going to the right) is broken! he won't turn, so we played with that some, but on line he will do flying lead changes, on the figure 8!! :D and our long line driveing is ammmmmmaaaaazzziiinngggg! he is soooooooooooooo smart!!! I Love my boy so much!! xD so things are good, only thing I hate is this crazy Georgia heat! so I have to play at night now, 90s goooooo away! haha anyways here are some pictures of Blaze from the other day

Blaze and Angel

me and Blaze had one amazing L4 On line session, yesterday. we played with the 45 foot line, Blaze afford 8 laps each way at the canter, (while I was standing neutral. and he gave me some beautiful flying changes (each way!) so then I did some figure 8s and every time he gave me flying changes (LEVEL4!) That was the first time!! and after that I said well it's been FOREVER since I played with zone 5 driving, and he was AMAZING!!!! doing side passes at the trot, and doing simple lead changes, and backing, and doing half backing circles it was amazing!! we are ready to Film! :D then I had to do some stuff to his hoofs, and then we spend some UDT I was letting him graze, the whole thing was really fun, even tho it was very humid and hot.

Angel and I have been playing with some more advanced things, we can almost do everything on level 2 self assessment list, but freestyle needs some playing with, but the other night I played with teaching her to back by the tail, and she now can! only took he 3 minutes to learn it, then I played with the circling game, and she did 5 laps a the canter each way! and some flying changes, then I got on bridle less and bareback, and I was splaying with my go phases, she will trot on a phase 1, but at the canter sometimes it takes a phase 3 or 4. and she'll buck a little. but it is a very lazy buck, so I can hold on with no problem bareback, she is starting to under stand my legs, when I turn etc, and she will even go sides now! she is ding great!

Busy Busy!

so Lately I've been really busy, but I like keeping busy...ha ha, so I won't "get lazy!" ha ha, anyways. I've been trying to get everything I ask Blaze to be in very low phases, trying still to get everything to Phase 1, and it's going pretty good. also been tweeting our Level 4 online/liberty and that is going awesome. Blaze is really more LBE now. he is motivated, and he'll try so hard, we can Officially do a Spanish walk under saddle, and while i'm on him, which is really cool. so proud of my Boy, :) and looks like I'll be able to go to Jennifer's for a play day this week, I might be filming My L4, (if it's OK with her) and if I feel were ready, which I've went over everything and we can do all the task! so it's looking good, but we'll see. I'm about to have enough to Buy a cradle bridle, and I'm VERY excited about that (might be getting one used!) anyways Blaze and I are doing Great, he is learning new stuff all the time, and I'm working even harder on my self to be the best me I can be in everything I do,

whew! I'm beat! I've been really busy lately with my job. I work 5 days a week now! so I've been trying to play with horses when I get home. so i guess I tell y'all what I've been playing with

Lately I've been playing with allot of our horses, I really love learning more about horsenalitys. and Luckily I can play with each Horsenatity! so I guess I tell about how's that been going

Blaze
Lately I've been teaching Blaze to spin (on the ground) and the Spanish walk. and to be lighter. and we have been very successful. he will now spin. and he will do 5 steps with a Spanish walk. and is very light! I think he really becoming more LBE then LBI. or he is a really motivated LBI! lol! i guess I just know how to motivate him, anyways....he is doing awesome with everything I teach him. I'm also playing with having my phases lower. I'm trying to get everything to phase 1 or 2. and he is great. everything is just about to a phase 1! which is huge for him. he is becoming more sensitive instead of dull. and he is doing excellent with everything I ask!

Angel
I've been teaching Angel allot of new stuff. I haven't been playing with her as much I should of course with my job and everything. but I've been riding her and doing more liberty which I have to say my self her liberty is pretty fabulous. and her riding is coming along great. so far at liberty I have taught her to back by the tail. one thing I love about her horsenatity is that I don't need a treat for her to learn something. she just gets it almost first thing. and is not that food oriented, unlike Blaze. haha, and also been teaching her to lay down. which she will bow but not enough trust yet for the lay, but that is totaly fine, :)

I haven't been able to play allot with the others but there all doing just fine. and I'm learning allot fromthem, and enjoying every minute I get with them. and also either this week or next week I'll film me and Blaze's and Angel's Progress and put it on youtube. and I might be going to Jennifer's next week so I'll also be takeing pictures there and filming to. well that's all for now. I'll try and post more often

Figured it out!

ok so lately I've been thinking about the professionals program. and I am gonna do it in 2012! when I turn 18. also take a 6 week masters class befor it of course! hehe with hopefully Keri Lea and Fran ;) that would be totally awesome! and I'm already starting to save right now. This is what I want to do. so I know if I want it bad enough I'll work hard for it. and if that isn't meant for me to do then it won't happen. but for now that is what I'm going for! I'm very excited! I'll be going for my 1 star. and then hopefully when I go for my 1 star me and Lea will be in the same class (hopefully) your rock lea ;) lol then save up for my 2 star maybe in 2013. and when I'm 19 any maybe have enough money saved up. depends I guess. I can't wait. what is so cool is. I have 3 years to get even better at teaching/dressage/everything! and i'll be totally ready to be a professional. yay!

Finess/Dressage Naturally. and STAR!

OK first. I'll start out with my interesting/fun/crazy session with the leader of our herd. miss big and bad star. she is a big sorrel QH mare. (LBI to th max) she is 12 or 13 I believe. anyways. for the long es I haven't done much playing with her at all. since I've been advancing Blaze Joy and angel and spirit. so that is 4 already. but star has such a nice gait and would make an AWESOME levels horse. Problem is she has 0 respect for humans. be for when I would do the circling game she would turn and charge at me. and (be for) I would be very scared. but not anymore. I already solved that problem about 2 years ago. I said you ARE NOT gonna charge at me. and have to use a good phase 4 and she didn't do it anymore. but anyways. yesterday I wanted to start playing with her more. because if I can get her to Respect me and trust me I know she'll be amazing! so I played a Little bit on the ground. and she was pretty disrespectful. but after I go some respect I said maybe she is ready to ride. so I got on. and fist thing she started rearing and turning and trying to get me of (I was bareback and had a halter and lead tied to reins ) and this horse when we got her she used to be a trail horse and a 7 year old used to ride her. and she was used for a trail horse for all ages of kids and was a dream. I guess because we haven't done so much with her in so long I guess she sorta just got bad. OK back to what I was saying. she was rearing and bucking (very lazy tho) and I kept turning her head laterally so she couldn't do it. and I got some control over her feet! and I have never jumped her with me on. ad I try ed it and she did it! and was pretty good! (got a video of it) maybe on today! and then she doesn't want canter with me on her. so I asked her. (had to do the big es phase 4 ever, just to get on stride) but she was bucking at the same time. and then started rearing. but she wasn't gonna get me off. and I asked her again another HUGE phase 4 and she gave me some more strides but kept bucking. so I said you wanna buck!? well lets buck hard. so I kept asking and asking till she finally said you know what! this isn't fun. so she stoped bucking. and I stoped and gave her a treat. and got off did some more stuff to get her to respect. like backing her. and moving her front end etc. but over all I know she can be a good horse, just needs to learn to respect. I think she'll teach me allot. she is by far the most challenging horse I've ever played with. which is good for me

Now my update with Finesse and Dressage Naturally!
since I've got my Wintec Dressage saddle. Finesse and Dressage is allot more easy for Blaze because he can use his back! so I've been Playing allot more with it lately (I have a video of yesterday but the computer doesn't want to upload our Piaffe video) anyways. Blaze will now give me a soft feel walk trot and canter in a halter! and he will now do Piaffe still not quite like Magic tho! and we can do Pirouettes. and side passes at the walk trot canter all with a soft feel. Just about ready for L4 I might when I'm ready do the audition with a halter. because I rally don't like using a bridle cause I know if I was a horse I wouldn't like a bit in my mouth at all. even if I was in good hands! but that is just me! ;) but Blaze is getting more amazing everyday! and I can't wiat to go home and do some UDT!

some of you may know for the past 4 years I have been struggling to get Blaze to slow down in his walk trot and canter. because he goes so fast and it's just no fun to even try and ride. and for the long es I been avoiding it at all cost. or just looking past it. because I didn't know what to do. anyways..........This past week I went to camp for 5 days. our focus of the week was mainly on line and freestyle patterns. and Freestyle patterns were a pain for me because Blaze kept going way to fast for every pattern we were doing. on follow the rail at the canter and trot. was impossible. because blaze just wanted to bolt around the arena. and that was no fun at all. I was struggling not to get upset. I kept smiling. and trying some more. I was using the theraflex. and it wasn't helping at all. the next day Jennifer wanted me to try her wintec Dressage saddle. that didn't fit her Halflinger. and it was wider than my saddle. so I said ah why not! first thing I put on and started walking. there wasn't any change that I could see. I asked him to trot and he started trotting slower. I was like wow! so far so good!! and when I asked for the canter he put his head down and started cantering very slow. I was in shock!!!!! :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: everyone who was watching was like WOW!!! :shock: because it was like a new horse!!! he was so nice and slow on a loose rein. I didn't have to hold him back at all! I try ed follow the rail at the canter and he didn't go any faster than what I asked. I way so HAPPY!!! later that day we did more patterns. and at times I had to do a 1 rein stop to remind him not to go fast. and after I did that he would slow down again. but we did clover leaf, at the canter and he was great! bulls eye. figure 8 and got flying lead changes!!! sideways box, at the trot and canter. almost got a flying change. (front feet changed) not the back lol. and the the ultimate challenge. the open pasture!!! with tons of obstacles :shock: :shock: and also a little cross country course, and we did that :shock: guess what. Blaze was perfect, got a little fast at times but slowed down. he went over the jumps. I was like WOW!!! and cantered all on the pasture with no problem. he didn't take off. everything went awesome!! I was blown away. and sorta felt bad that All this time I've been having trouble was because of our saddle. but I'm glad that it is fixed now. and Jennifer let me buy the saddle!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Grateful that she let me try it out. and Jennifer was the first person besides me that had rode him (since I've had him) and he did awesome. and just yesterday I let my mom and brother. and niece and sister N law ride him for the first time. (my sis n law has never rode a horse) and I told her what to do. and let her go and she was riding all around the pasture with no problem. and she loved it. and he also was perfect for my brother and mom too!! I would have never done that with my old saddle. because Blaze has completely changed latterly over night! I would have never trusted him with someone else on his back be for!

and Jennifer has had this saddle for years and hasn't used it so it's like new! :mrgreen: I even got him to do finesse in a halter. walk trot and canter. and doing patterns. it was so easy for his back. I was so very happy that finesse will no longer be hard because he can finally use his back now and no longer bracy!! :mrgreen: and the same with freestle. no more takeing off, and going fast

Yay!! Camp starts Monday. but I might be going tomorrow. today was busy!! I had tons of things to do. like.....go get the horse trailer. buy a helmet. buy horse treats. buy fly spray. buy hay. give blaze a bath (tomorrow) brush him. trim his hoofs which I did tonight and cut my finger bad ouchy!! but I can't wait. I won't be staying over night because 1 I've never been away from home at someones house (over night) i still have horses to feed at home. but Jennifer lives only 12 miles away. so my dad will be bringing me in the morning, it's 5 days long. and I'm excited about being Jennifer's assistant for the week. and I'll take lots of photos. there are 4 other girls going. and I can't wait to play on Jennifer's AWESOME Play ground. I LOVED it last time. and the huge arena! woohoo I can't wait. well I'll try and keep everyone posted.. I need to get some sleep!! night night all have a great week!

OK, so My Birthday is tomorrow, and for my Bday I bought used but like new theraflex pad. (English) and I try ed it out and Blaze made sorta a change, (I don't have shims yet) but today I took one of our old pads that was falling apart, and but it like were the shims would be. Got Blaze ready on the ground, then got on. and Blaze was doing Great at the walk! and when I asked for the trot he didn't go fast!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!! and when I asked for the canter it was nice and slow!!! Finally!! and when I stopped he started to blow. lick and chew etc. but, I loved it!! I wish I would have got a theraflex pad a long time ago. but I still can't wait to get some shims (ordering tomorrow)

and yesterday was Great, we went to eagles landing church. (Mark Halls church) (casting crowns singer) and they had one Guy from the Army there, and he told his testimony, which was obviously amazing, and has done so much for the army, I can't remember his name but I'll ask later what it was. but also we saw allot of family that we haven't seen in YEARS!!! and went out to eat. and had a great time. and my uncle and his daughter came to our house. and of course wanted to see me and Blaze, so him and me showed them some stuff and Blaze was Great!!!

Well I had one very Fun Day!!

first off, Jennifer found me on the Savvy club fourm, and she only lives 12 miles away from us, and she teaches lessons, and parelli, anyways, she said I could come over and bring blaze, and also she is the one that I am going to one of her camps she is haveing next month,

anyway, we were half way there, we turned at a stop sign, and right about when we hit 20, the trailer just droped to the ground, (blaze inside) and the hitch on my dads truck snaped in half!! and I'm like OMG!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!! My baby is in there!!!! :O and we pulled over real quick, and I jumped out as fast as I could, and I had a fealing that I shouldn't tie blaze to anything, so he was just so he could walk around in the trailer, anyway, I open the trailer door, and Blaze was ok, THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got him out, and then a lady that had horses pulled up, and asked if we needed any help, and my dad told her what happend, and she said well, you can use my truck, and after fitting everything she drove blaze over there for us, my dad said let me pay you, and she said no, WOW how I love horse people!! anyway, Jennifer was like wow when we told her, and Blaze was very RBE, that has been the first place he has been to in 2 years!! so me and jennifer started playing, and she has a BEAUTIFUL Halflinger!!! wow, You'll see pics once you go down, but anyway we had an amazing day!! I can't wait to go back

Wow, has it been a week, so, me and Blaze has been doing alto of cool stuff, yesterday, I played with the Question box, for the first time, and it was our first time because are footing stinks, so I started and I had a bridle on, and had a carrot stick, and I started at the walk, and he kept wanting to trot, so I would bend him to a stop, and after a while he started blowing, so I said OK! now lets trot, and first thing I started to trot he wanted to take off to the building, weel long story short, I had to shut him down like 30 times, lol! because I wanted him to listen to my body and not the reins, so he had his own idea, so after a while, I got him LB, and he started trotting slower, and blowing, licking chewing etc, and I did it for a while, and asked for the canter, and boy! just like the trot he had his own idea of, "hey I'll just bolt back to the building" so I had to keep shutting him down again. which it is sorta hard for him to have a nice slow canter, because the dang hills and footing are awful, but after a while he slowed down just a bit, and out of know were he got snotty and said, "I am going faster Ha!!" so I said, OK, this isn't going to well, so be for I get mad, and start thinking about the task, I better just "stop!" so I went in a round pen and just cantered a few laps, and he was implosive, I think, I got off and watched him canter around, and it looked like how he was cantering with me?

Could it be I'm just unconfined with him cantering? could that just be his natural canter, and I just think it's too fast, "hmmmmm how interesting!" maybe I am unconfident about it, but I do know sometimes for sure he canters to fast "sometimes" but I sat there with him, and he was like "treat"? and I said ok, But!" you only get the treat if you do something for me, and so, I put my hand up high and clucked, and he did a very high rear, (that is what I was asking for) and so he got his treat, and then I asked him to give me a kiss, and he did, so I just played around with alot of stuff, and I got him to back 1 lap, at liberty, (first time) with phase 1!!

so things are going well, my brothers, Girl Friend came to visit, and I let her ride him around, bareback, and just with a halter and lead, (lead tied as reins) and here I am about to have a heart attack, thinking, "please don't take off, please don't take off" and Nya, she is a "normal" hunter jumper, so she has him on a tight rein, and he luckily put up with her, and gave a nice soft feel, and when she got off she gave him a bog ol WACK on the neck, and Blaze looked Very mad at her for that, and I'm like thinking "AHHHHHHHHH DON'T HIT MY HORSE!" luckily kept my mouth shut, lol,and that was very hard to do,

but we had a great time, besides that,

Great Session!

Yesterday I had a Great liberty session. and some interesting conversations. I started out on line just to get him ready, and he was doing very well, I had a weave and a figure 8. and some barrels set up, and I started with the barrels and he did very well with everything I asked him to do with them, then I moved on to the figure 8, and he did awesome. he started to do it him self, and his weave was perfect,

so I took the halter off and started playing at liberty, and he did awesome with stick to me that is his fave game! so, I started the figure 8. and he said no. and would stop going to the left. (he doesn't like me on that side) so I just went up to him and asked him to follow me, and try ed again. and he said "NO" again. so I put him back on line and he did it perfect, so I went back at liberty and he did the same thing, and I was like OK? so I went back on line and perfect again. and went at liberty and the same thing every time. so, I need to play with that cause he did it great when going to the right. but said "no" going to the left, I hope he is better today, if he isn't I'm not gonna keep doing it til he gets it, because, "RELATIONSHIP FIRST" ;)

any way. I played with backing by the tail. and he has that so good that he will do it when I back. (not holding the tail) and I played with weave from zone 5 and he did awesome! and did some simple lead changes from zone 5 and that was really cool!

I also did some circles at liberty. and he was AMAZING! he was cantering around me. and I even got a flying lead change. (in the middle of the pasture) I was like "WOW" he was awesome. and also did some cutting game and that was so cool. he did so amazing. and after I was done you can imagin he got lots of treats, and that was my session. I can't wait to play today and play with that figure 8. I hope it goes well.

Note to self. "RELATIONSHIP FIRST!" ;)

Liberty liberty I LOVE IT!!!!!

when I got home from work it was still day light. Yay! and I had my mom drop me off at the pasture. today I wanted to play with liberty since I've been playing on line for the past week. so, I started off just stick to me. which he was AMAZING!!! he is even bettered this. but now we can just canter around with my hand on his neck and be doing a slow canter!! he is so smart!!

Then since we have been playing with the cutting game I said I guess I'll see how that is going. and so I got the look on my face and started cutting and he was AMAZING again!!! I mean this was like Pat and magic. or Linda and Remmer. he did it just like them. and then when I reached out to pet him and he nipped me LOL, IT didn't hurt, but I laughed so hard. because I was like OH!" that is what Pat and Linda say when you got to be careful with that LOL, but,then I played with backing by the tail. and he wouldn't back up. and so I put him on line real quick to refresh his memory. ( I now find how important it is to put them back on line instead of trying to fix it at liberty) anyway. when I took the halter off again he knew what I meant, and I had like 2 hairs in my hand and he backed. and did it with no hands. then I went in the round pen. (round pen gate open) and played some circling game walk trot and canter. and transitions. and he did some beautiful flying lead changes. and we finally fixed his flying change from right to left.

and we also played with jumping 1 barrel to me. and he did Great! and after I was done I just sat there a few Min's just giving him some hugs and treats, and telling him how amazing he is. he kept sticking his nose into me. But, I am so proud of him. he is getting better and better everyday. and I know since i have changed for the good he has even got better, since I quite thinking about the "task" or passing a level. I'm gonna put the Relationship always first. and since I have he is amazing. and since I've had that attitude adjustment thank you Fran. again. everything is Great!"

ok. really, I have NEVER had such an AMAZING!" SESSION EVER!!! Today Blaze and me played with level 4/5 on line. and one thing that kristi told me to do is to be able to send blaze is the trailer from at least 30 feet away at the trot or canter. well how bout this. 45 FEET AWAY" Yep first time. and I was sitting down when I asked him!! How cool!

so then when he came out I said hmmm, I have an Idea!" so I got him to turn around and from 45 feet away. (me sitting down) got him to back in the trailer. (the trailer doesn't have a ramp) this was really really Cool!! so then I sat on the trailer. and asked him to 45 feet away to go to the pedestal and put all 4 feet on it, wow!" was he offering alot today or what. :D so then I got on top of the trailer. and got him to go in. then got him to stop half way and me stand on his back to get down!!

so, I went to the bigger wide open part of the pasture, and asked him to canter. and he was a little RB because this is around are house and he stays on the other side of the lake with the other horses, so when we would get to the side that went to the pasture he would pull hard. so I just had steddie presure. and he kept staying on the wrong lead going to the left. so, I kept him going til he got on the left lead. and then he slowed down in his canter and started blowing. and he was at the end of the 45 foot with some slack. and my feet still. and the he got past my shoulder and i got him to do a beautiful lead change.

and going to the right was more beautiful cantering. took phase 1 for the canter. and I didnt have to nag. he kept going and going. L4! and then I got him to do a nother flying change, woohoo" and I am also getting him to jump 1 berral from 45 feet away. and also tought him to rear the other day. and got him to do one big rear. and he is getting better by the day. I am so proud of him. he is learning so fast

Level 3 On line.

I have Passed my level 3 on line. :D yay! I have one more to go to pass Level 3. and I'm sending liberty tonight! it passed as level 3! I really do think I should have done a new video. blaze wasn't really connected that day. but it looked pretty good. but are on line since then I think could pass level 3 ++ or level 4. but I am so greatful! and happy! :D

Blaze is getting more amazing everyday!! he is offering more. and I am still doing hill therapy. and his gaits are getting better by the day. been a few days since I've done any because it has been raining like CRAZY!! are lake is over flowing! :O but anyways, today was sunny so I said hey I think I can do some hill therapy. and I had the 22 foot line on. and asked him to go out in the circle and his send needs to be better! he is slow at going so I will play with that. anyway. I started at the trot and he wasn't pulling on me at all! in fact. he was getting closer and closer and closer. till he was doing a very small circle around me. tehehehehe. funny boy! making the circle smaller. Lol. then I asked for the canter. took phase 1! and he said yes ma'am. How cool!

and just like the trot he got closer and closer and closer till he was doing a small circle around me at the canter. I think he is getting pretty smart. like hey I go in closer and the circle is quicker. Lol, and gave me some very snazzy lead changes. which was really neat! and then I started playing with sideways to and away. and he is getting really great and the trot. I was on the end of the 22 foot line and he slowed down and I was close to him.(still holding the end of the 22 foot) and so there was lots of slack and he kept trotting sideways! and didn't try to run he kept going! then when I played with sideways too me he was great. we don't have it at the trot yet but he did offer a few steps! it's a start!

so I took the halter off and started some liberty. which I think is Level 4 quality!(maybe) need to look at the self assessment list again to make sure. but he is amazing at liberty now. I would do a norther video. but my mom's computer is messed up. and my brother doesn't want me using his. ugh. but oh well I guess I'll save up for my own "AFTER" I get my cradle and theraflex pad. anyways... I played with circling around me. and that was perfect! just like on line. he walked trot and cantered around me at liberty! so cool! and I am playing with the change of direction. he will stop then turn. so I need to play with that. but are canter too me is getting Great! and stick too me is awesome! and i also been playing with the cutting game. and that was cool. blaze did that today! I was so proud of him. I think I've finally found out what makes him tick! and thanks to Fran for helping me with are cantering etc. It has really helped! and also thank you Fran for that attitude adjustment!! I would have still been having trouble if it wasn't for her.

Blaze is my Confidence

so I got my Savvy club DVD yesterday. and watched the whole thing. and I have come to realize that I'm allot like that girl. just with people and new places. and not riding. I am RBI. so I am very VERY shy the first time i meet someone. but I am getting better with that. but once I know someone I'm LBE/I. and I have figured out with blaze around I'm more confident. I can talk with ease. and I don't go RBI and hide. last year I went too the 4Th of July parade for the very first time. and blaze first time too. and if Blaze wouldn't have been there I would have been super RBI. cause it was just me and the guy who brought me. and I couldn't hide with mom/dad I wasn't too happy with the way everyone was hitting there horses. but anyways.why is he my confidence? I do not know. but I found it very interesting

well it has been real crazy. sorry for not posting anything. but Blaze got hurt. and I thought it was real bad. but next day he was fine thank goodness! but anyway yesterday I had a fabulous ride on angel. she is getting so confident!! and got her ready on the ground and then put a bare back pad on her. and put the bit with my new finesse reins that I LOVE!! and got on. (first time riding her with a bit) and she is so light! she kept wanting to go back to the building but I just used a direct rein to correct her. I am also playing with her to maintain gait. she is getting good with the trot. canter she still will buck sometimes. but I got a few strides! and she has such a lovely canter! nice and slow. UN like blaze. LOL. but anyways...... I got her to go down to the lake. got her to go in just a bit. she was unconfined so I backed off. and then I got her to go over a small jump. (very first time with a rider) I didn't do big cause I would fall off cause her jumping is horrible. LOL! Then we had a very nice walk back to the building. she is doing so great. I am very proud of her!!!! she is so gentle. and I think she is gonna be real easy to teach more advanced stuff! but since she is RBI I'm gonna go slow and wait til she is ready to move to something more advanced!! NOW blaze's turn!!!!!!!

I have decided to start hill therapy with him to help his back and gait and just to be More relaxed. and I am dreading not being able to ride him for 6 weeks but if it helps him it is so totally worth it. and tonight I played with him. and I found a small hill for him to go up and down. and I was watching to make sure he wasn't limping. so I did some laps/ and he did Great he even of ford to do 5 laps at the canter going left :O!!!!!!!!!!!! he HATES going left. wow that was so cool!!! and he did 5 laps going to the right!! that is more than he has ever done with me just standing still!! it was REALLY cool!! and I am also teaching him how to bow between his legs! and he will go all the way to his head now!! and I will get pics as soon as my moms computer quites being mean! lol.

well I'm off to bed. just thought I would update everyone!!

It was a pleasure watching your Audition and your FreeStyle is Level 3!

To help your horse be more confident the Patterns are going to be the key to your success. Adding some follow the Rail, Corners game and Question Box will help your horse become more relaxed cantering. This will also help your lead changes become solid and complete. When he gets scared and in a hurry it can be difficult for the hind leg to keep up with the change.

Dressage Naturally!

Today I got Karen Rolf's Dressage Naturally DVDs. and I loved them. so I went out and try ed it with blaze. and I started on the ground and he was acting a little RBE. so I has to interrupt the pattern a few times till he Finally calmed down. (it was really windy) so then I got on and just started him walking around doing some stuff that I watched but really just getting him listening to me, and he was doing Great. I wasn't even having to use my legs. he was listening to me "body" which was so cool.

so then I started some of the exercise. and Blaze was doing Great. and just in a few minutes he was offering a slow walk trot and canter. which he has never ever ever Done! he was so responsive if I asked walk canter he said Yes ma'am if I asked canter stop Yes Ma'am he was doing anything. and when I asked for a straight line canter (which most of the time he will just bolt forward) he stayed at the same Pace I was like this is Totally awesome dude! lol!! I didn't want to stop it was so cool! I did more freestyle then finesse cause now I'm like I'm gonna get his Gaits better be for I start doing more finesse. anyway I can't wait to ride again. I really hope it goes as good as it did today!

OK REALLY Who took my Blaze and Replaced him with a Motivated and willing horse? I have a horse that is offoring to canter and doing flying lead changes and wants to walk trot and cater close to me. wow what a good shocker lol! over night my horse has changed? I must have done something right lol. but what? My LBI that always says NO to cantering is sayine yes to phase 1! WOW! i'm in shock! this is so cool! I never thought he would offor to canter. and do a flying lead change from going to the right to left "cause he hates going to the left" but now phase 1 and he says yes ma'am. hmmm this was so a How intresting! I have been putting the relatingship first. so could that be why? hmmmm maybe! I think so! tell me what y'all think? but any way I am like SO happy! I've been waiting for the moment my horse "ticks" and I think that has finally happend! but I jsut wanted to share that.

and me and my dad are about to go film my liberty for my audition I'll tell how it goes

Yesterday was ONE Crazy day!! out of knowere we started haveing bad wether and bam the tornado siren goes off. and me my mom/dad/braothers/ and sister n law was at my dads business. So I'm like about to have a heart atack. and my dad is laughing at me. and so we left and we were bringing my brother to church. and to do that we headed right into it. and I said THIS IS INSANE!!!!!! and we turned on a road and we look and there is this HUGE brown tornado comeing right at us!!!! I mean like less then half a mile. and we turned around and BOOM hail wind and rain start hitting us. I was about to TOTALLY FREAK OUT!!! and everything is getting herd to see. and we were tuck at a red light and then we Finally got passed the red light and RAN FOR DEAR LIFE!!!!! and my dad was smileing and my brother was laughing lol. and I'm like YIKES!!!!!!!! and we headed for sun light and GOT OUT OF IT. so that was the most scared thing that has EVER happend to me. and that is as close to a tonado as I want to EVER get. and luckly are horses was fine when we got home. but yesterday there was more than 1 tornado around us there was like 2 or 3

I've been thinking about this allot for the past few days. I was talking to Fran and trying to figure out how me and blaze could get even closer. and she said are you doing it for the horse? or trying to change him? oh wow! she got me good. I said well trying to change him. so I've been thinking or ways to STOP THINKING OF THE TASK!!!!! AND HAVE FUN!!!! and that is real hard for me to do. so yesterday morning I got up and be for we left for work I played with him. and I said to my self no matter what happens go slow and be friendly.so I was just doing some stuff. lead by the lip. ear. legs. and stick to me. and that went very good. and we were in the round pen and I said OK how bout a circle and I asked him to go and guess what? he started doing a small circle around me and I didn't even ask! and I asked for the canter and he did a small canter around me! I said WOW! I couldn't believe it. I've asked be for and he said not gonna happen. but when I didn't care he did! and I didn't have to nag at all! he was like yes ma'am! I finally understand that when it's NOT about the task and you just go out to have fun your horse will offer more! and now I trying to STOP caring so much if things don't go right. just smile and don't get mad move on or just go slow and be friendly

Today I went up to the pasture to pick up old hay string and get it out of there were the horses won't get there hoofs stuck in it. and Joy Spirit fire Blaze Angel midnight star were eating hay. and out of know ere Joy (1 year old QH mare) looks at me and starts bolting towards me bucking and going crazy. so she stoped at me and I'm like OK I guess you want to play. and then I chose liberty playing stick to me. and she was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! when I would walk she would walk when I would trot she would trot and when I would canter she would canter lol. and when I would bolt off she would chase me bucking and then stop at me. and sometimes she would turn around and try and kick me! lol. but I didn't care she was playful! sometimes she would run back to the herd and then look at me and come bolting back to me. and it was wet so my eyes got real big eek! but she did a slid stop at me. I can't get her to do anything real big like blaze but blaze isn't playful. but she is. I've never really started playing with her till about 2 months ago and this was the best session ever! I hope to get it on film when my dad doesn't have to work. but anyway this was just so amazing! and magical!
